Lee Mendiola - review. -- from Dawn... Dr. Mendiola is a terrific physician, he has a keen mind and he is an all around nice guy and I strongly recommend him. He listens well, is honest and has a good sense of humor. What I like most about Dr. Mendiola is that he offers options. He is non-judgmental and has a very supportive way of offering professional opinions. At the same time, he is able to bring his own experiences into the treatment room and therefore has the skill to lessen the natural barrier between patient and doctor. In addition, I have had a good experience with his staff. I have observed how he treats his staff; he is respectful and they seem happy. The office is well run and always on time which amazes me, especially because he always takes the time to chat a bit and make me feel welcome.…

A New Feeling: Being In a Safe. Hello, I've been a patient of Dr. Mendiola for the past 2 years for my eating disorder and anxiety disorder. I was referred by a very close friend who understood my skepticism about and resentment toward seeing mental health care professionals. I've had horrible experiences with them in the past, having dealt with insensitive and unprofessional therapists and psychiatrists. But this changed when I began seeing Dr. Mendiola. I feel safe in his treatment, being able to open up about very painful events in my life. He understands the real me, and really listens to my own voice. I feel like a really matter, like a real person. He also takes the time to teach me about my medication and why I need to take them. It makes my trip from Santa Barbara most worthwhile. I have no hesitation recommending Dr. Mendiola to any of my loved ones if ever they need help.…

Professional and Caring. I am currently seeing Dr. Mendiola and he has changed my life. I have suffered from depression for as long as I can remember. I have been on numerous antidepressants much to no avail. I had finally given up on myself and became resolved that i would have to live this way for the rest of my life. Until one day a co-worker of mine recommended him to me. I was able to get an appointment quickly and i'm so glad i decided to go. I've been his patient for a few months now and am happy to report I feel like I'm really living my life now. I am on entirely new meds and undergoing therapy with a therapist he referred me to. Unlike other doctors i've been to, Dr. Mendiola takes the time to listen to me and doesn't rush me out of his office after five minutes. I feel like he really understood what I was going through and he is very patient with answering my questions. When I first came to see him, I was apprehensive about getting myself some help again. But upon meeting him, he made me feel at ease almost immediately. Now, I look forward to all my office visits even if it's just to let him know how great i'm doing. I highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable in his field and has excellent interpersonal skills. There is absolutely nothing I would change about this amazing doctor. He went above and beyond all my expectations and I can't say enough wonderful things about him.…
