Best off the beaten path food in Gainesville

There no other place I take out of town friends too like Satchel's the food is amazing and not just the Pizza I don't order salads often but Satchel's has me craving them. What a unique experience.
Come early and check out their thrift store lightning salvage they've got everything from when I was a kid spending my allowance at the dime store!!!

this place is a little pricey, but well worth the price. The service is good, and the food is great! The naan is top-notch and the tikka masala is out of this world. I hear they have a great lunch buffet, but have never been. Their hours are pretty strange so check the web or call before you go

if you have guests from out of town, and you can only take them out to eat once, take them to satchel's. The place is great, the long wait for a table is the fun part, you can drink, listen to live music, and peruse the junk shop. Once you get a table the salad is great, and the pizza is better than any I have had in the world.

Super Kid Friendly, yummy yummy yummy...

The food is usually awesome. Personally I am not a fan of the plain cheese pie, but everything else I've tried I've loved. The crust is especially yummy. The salad is amazing-- once in awhile it seems lacking in dressing (which is homeade and also amazing) but you can just order a side of it, too. The best part about Satchel's is that it's big people and little people friendly. There are two play areas to take your kids while you're waiting (and you will wait!). It's just all-around funky and fun.

Good pizza, long wait

Long lines- I usually get it to-go. Good pizza and fresh ingredients. Local place, local art. Hippie and local and cool. Best way to describe this place. Salad is good with homemade dressing, nuts, carrots, apple slices and parm cheese. YUM. The bus out front is neat, but you do have to wait for a long time. Don't forget your cash, cash only dude.
