In Short – Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

Gluten Free Heaven; Excellent Manager

Was craving a steak and had not eaten all day. Having Celiac Disease makes just eating anywhere difficult. Alas, Outback!
Phoned in my order for pick=up. Ordered Ribeye w/ garlic mashed potatoes & Caesar Salad. Made it back to my destination and ate my salad. Highly anticipating my ribeye I opened the to-go box and there was a bed of french fries all over my steak. Not only did I not order these, but they are not gluten free as they fry in the same vat as blooming onion, etc.
The bright side! I called as soon as I noticed the mistake and the girl put the manager on. He was more than sympathetic and was genuinely concerned about his staff's lack of attention to detail.
Genuinely feeling bad about the mistake, he comp'd a gluten free brownie and other items as well. Regardless of my dismay and dissappointment, Marshall (Mngr) compensated for Outback's error and I would go back to this Outback so long as I know he is managing it.
Being Gluten Free is a learning experience for all of us, even people without Celiac Disease. We can become ill even from the tiniest exposure to Gluten. I believe that because of this experience, this particular Outback will be more aware of orders that are marked Gluten Free.
Bottom line: If it weren't for the error, I would have given a 5 rating. However, Marshall (Mngr) made up for the error and I would go back. The finished product was delicious!
- Pros: Delicious extensive Gluten Free Menu; Excellent Manager
- Cons: Check your take out orders before leaving the lot
