Can't believe this amazing place exists in Sanford!.
My boyfriend and I moved to NC from Southern California, so of course I thought there would be nothing but fried southern food. This place was like some of the gourmet places we became fans of in CA. I read an article about Bella Bistro in a Sanford magazine so we decided to go. We heard the chef studied with Tyler Florence (Food Network) so we were excited to try the food!
It was amazing!!!! I got the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend got the steak. Both were amazing! The lobster bisque soup was excellent as well! We have gone 2 other times, including my birthday and we always get something different. Everything has been amazing! They have a braised meat every day and we tried the pork belly and it was out of this world!

This is my new favorite restaurant. This is my new favorite restaurant. We just happened upon it. Kevin, our waiter, was the best. The duck was awesome. The soup was out of this world. If you are looking for a quick meal, go to Chili's. If you want the best meal you have ever eaten, go to Bella. Each meal is prepared from scratch, so your dining experience will take about 1 1/2 hours, but it is well worth it. The desert was unbelievable. This is Sanford's best kep secret. After eating, take the time to walk around downtown.

Friday night was our first trip to this wonderful restaurant. we felt bad for the 2 servers in the whole restaurant, but under the circumstances, they did a superb job. When I asked if they were the only two, our server informed us there was a death in the family of one of the servers.
Although service wasen't as fast as I would have liked it to be, being I am also a server I understood and will go again. The Zuppa Di Pesse (sp) was the best. The sauce was excellent. I will say the supervisor or whoever he was could have helped these servers out. He did not impress me as a manager, because he should have really backed these servers by carrying out salads or whatever else needed to be done to ensure good service.
But it could have been unavoidable so I will go back again before I am to quick to judge.
