A hairdresser who listens! NYC-style hair at LI prices. Madeline was recommended to me by a friend (who also has very long thick hair). I've been going to her for over a year now, and I won't go to anyone else! I work in NYC but get my hair cut in Island Park (near my home), and get compliments at work after a cut. She always asks "Is this okay?" before cutting--and never cuts too much off--and has created 3 different styles for me over the last year. I went from curly to straight to straight with side-bangs, and trust that she'll cut the right shape for my face. Haven't been disappointed yet!

Easy to get an appointment as long as you call ahead. She's pretty booked on the weekends but a few days notice is fine. I've called the day of. Best of all, the prices are amazing. $17 for a wash/cut (no dry) and $35+ for a blow-out (long hair).
