Ann Arbor's BEST Nightclub. My friends and I go all the time on thursdays and saturdays and we absolutely LOVE it... the DJs are awesome and stay current with great music... drinks are the cheapest of any bar in Ann Arbor that i've been to and the atmosphere is great for dancing!!! I just wish they stayed open past 2!

necto. Love going there. Necto's been my fav place to go forever. every night has different theme. be careful to make sure you know the nights themes. Pride night's (the night I like the most) are fridays. The basement has great music.

Necto. My friends and I go to Necto all the time, we have tried all of their nights. Monday is goth night, it was fun but a little different too. I guess if I was into that it would be a really cool night. Thursday is college night, they play top 40 and have awesome drink specials! (half off everything before 11!) needless to say we get there early to take advantage. Friday (gay night) is fun too, as a bunch of single girls you will never feel better about yourself than when you walk out of necto on a friday night. all night long the bois are saying "oh girl I love your hair' "you are so hot, If i was straight I would soooooo do you" not to mention, most of the bois are HOT and shirtless ;) Saturday is always busy, it seems like it is a bit more of a mature crowd than thursdays (not like old, old but not all 18 either) Tons of cute guys! And awesome music (its sooooooooo loud, but in a good way :))

Go Gay Night. Wonderful club for us to gather and talk, listen to music. Breeders have enough clubs, give us more nights!!!

Shady Place- Girls stay away. I went there after hearing some decent things said about them, and because girls get in without a cover. So I thought that it would be a fun place to take my girlfriend dancing. The fact that its easy for minors to get drinks was a bonus for her. Upon arriving I noticed that it was completely packed. While this normally is not a problem, the clientele made me and her very uncomfortable. While slow dancing we had to move multiple times to avoid being joined by some opportunist stranger. The nerve on some people was shocking. Perhaps I should have done my research before going, but I never expect a stranger to grind onto my girlfriends while I am dancing with her. Also, it may be easy to brush of such incidents as isolated, or the actions of a drunk person. I mean, stuff happens. But in this case it seems completely representative of how things are at the place based upon my experience and later testimonials that I heard from my friends. I suppose that it must be a haven for slimly perverts that want to cop a cheap feel or two. It also may be a welcoming place for any lady that feels under appreciated and lonely, as the chances of finding a guy that appears interested in you, if only for a one-stand. I share none of these concerns, and will never again attend.

I suppose I should say something as to the music and drinks. The former was average, the same typical popular music that is often overplayed on the radios. Nothing inspiring or stands out among anything that I heard, but I wasn't playing close attention to the music in the first place. I enjoyed the drinks specials there, as rum and coke is my favorite drinks. They had a watered-down well version of it that was very cheap (I think 2 drinks for $3), which for a college budget is a great deal on a Friday night.

Big name DJs, needs more ambience. Voted best new club of 2002 in Urb Magazine, this club definitely is the place to be if you want to hear big name DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, etc. They do an excellent job of booking first rate acts mainly techno, house, trance, and drum and bass. The drinks are decently priced as well, compared to some of the clubs in Detroit. This place needs a facelift though and an upgrade to the sound system. The crowd is decent, although young. There is a feeling that everyone is welcome, straight or gay or whatever.

a little odd. mostly techno and house here, but it's usually pretty decent stuff. interesting place to go on tuesdays and fridays, which at one time were 'gay nights' but that may have changed recently. straight folks looking for a hookup, beware, this is a predominantly gay club now more than ever.
