GREAT CHOPS AND STEAKS
by DAVID HELMHOLTZ
FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAVE PATRONIZED THE PALM DESERT CHOP HOUSE FOR YEARS AND HAVE "NEVER" HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE...WAIT PERIOD IS SHORT IF ANY..EVEN DURING THE "HIGH" SEASON IN WINTER MONTHS. THE SERICE IS EXCELLANT AND FRIENDLY AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT OF A TOP NOTCH STEAK HOUSE.
My awful chop house experience

Upon entering the establishment we were greeted with the phrase "oh bad news." The host/manager informed us that the attire my husband was wearing was inappropriate, however, he was mistaken and appologized. Not the best way to start a romantic meal in a somewhat pricey restaurant. Once seated we witnessed several patrons, dressed as they called it "inappropriate" waltz in with no word. I had the filet bone in and my husband had the new york. I proceeded to return my filet not once, twice, but three times. This would have been excusable had it been a denny's or an IHOP, however, to spend $40 on a single meal only to have it ruined is not. My husband waited for me to receive my meal, but by the time it finally reached my table (still not right) his meal was ice cold. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to ANY ONE!
- Pros: nothing, nada, zip
- Cons: , service, management
don't eat here

My wife and I went to the Chop House on 8/14/04, had the worst experience. You would expect if you are going to pay alot for a meal, it should come out great. I ordered the filet bone in (their signature dish), had to send it back twice, and it still wasn't cooked right. Come to find out that the tables to right and left were sending their food back as well.
Honestly the best steak house in the Rancho Mirage/Palm Springs area is LGs... I highly recommed it.
- Pros: nothing, nothing, nothing
- Cons: , nothing, nothing
