Cheated on Wedding Catering

My new husband LOVES Indian food and because of the other positive reviews on this website, we met with the owner and manager of this restaurant and hired them to cater our December 2008 wedding. Aside from the dishes being much spicier than promised and others substituted without our permission (problematic because we ordered dishes with knowledge of having children and older adults with health concerns in mind), our biggest problem was in being cheated by the owner with the disposition of the remaining food.

Many of our guests could not eat the dishes because they were too spicy, and so we had A LOT left over -- of essentially everything. The owner himself returned to pick-up the set-up. We wanted to simply keep the leftovers (again, new hubby LOVES Indian food -- we have refrigerator space, guests in town and drive-to honeymoon spot).... The food was in disposable aluminum pans and simply could have been left with us (as per agreed upon plan), but the owner claimed that he'd "thrown away" the pan lids, but could take it back to the restaurant to pack it up for us in small containers, to be picked up later. Well, on our wedding night, my husband stopped by to pick up what should have been like 20(+) of such containers, and instead was given only 6 of them. The owner again claimed to have "thrown away" big portions of food (we don't believe this, AND we'd been CRYSTAL clear about wanting to pick up everything when HE offered to take it and pack it...).

Bottom line, we were cheated. The food was good and many of our friends stated wanting to use them for their upcoming weddings, showers, etc -- they'll know from us not to do this now. AND, for those looking for Indian buffet, you may want to reconsider here as you never know whose outside catering buffet the Nan and dishes might have been sitting on before becoming a part of your meal. BEWARE!

Best Indian food in Boston!! A must-try!

I have been coming to Boston for countless years and never leave without making a trip to this great restaurant! Whether it is for their plentiful lunch buffets or delicious dinners, I always leave content and amazed by their quality of food, speed, and caring attitude. The manager is very accommodating and always ensures that the meal is going smoothly. I have tried majority of their popular dishes, esp the vegetarian ones and would highly recommend the chicken tikka masala. Being a New Jersey native, I have tried countless Indian restaurants but this one has to top them all!! A def must-visit!
