Tips for Sid's Towing & Recovery

Very clean tow-truck, with a very nice driver. Called in the lady that answered the phone was very nice and they picked me up very quickly. They are how a service like this should be. I have used a couple others in town and this place truly is the best so far.

If it was me, I would completely AVOID using this company.

If you allegedly tow an all-wheel drive vehicle WITHOUT taking it out of park, the transmission will be damaged. Unfortunately, they allegedly don't understand this concept. If this happens to occur to YOUR vehicle, they will allege it was YOUR fault and will not take any responsibility for it.

Your choice, but I'd suggest keep looking for a potentially more reputable company - in my opinion.

These guys are my hero's. Dur-ring the last snow storm i was stuck in the middle of I74 5 miles into Indiana, scared and not sure what to do. I called the police, they said they will get to me when they can. I started to go down the list of towing services and they were the only one in a 20 mile radius that would answer there phone. The lady was nice and polite and calmed me down and assured me she would get to to safety. Drivers were such sweet hearts and done a awesome job. I don't care were i am at i am calling my hero's first if i ever need anything again. This is a real towing service that's here to help people no matter the weather, time, or day.

I give these guys the up most props. There always fast and friendly. The last time they helped me was yesterday. My car died on gilbert st, sids came and picked me up and took me home. Driver even helped carry in my groceries. I love them and will keep there number on speed dial

Call someone else! While working out of town, one of our trucks became stuck in some mud. Our driver called Sid's Towing for help. He asked for a quote, but Sid's refused to give one to him. He also asked if they would take credit cards since the bill would need to be settled through the corporate office which was about 100 miles away. They assured us that a credit card would be fine. The first truck dispatched by Sid's became stuck in the mud. Sid's sent another truck to pull out their own truck as well as ours. Our truck only needed to be moved about 20 feet to reach solid ground; instead, the tow driver pulled the truck 180 feet to blacktop. Sid's office called our corporate office for payment and said the bill would be $600. When we asked for an explanation of the cost, they said it was 200 feet at $3.00 per foot. We've been in business over 35 years and have never heard of this billing method for towing services. One of our employees got on the phone and asked for details. When Sid's wouldn't provide these, things got heated. Sid's said they would tow the truck and impound it. Then they said they would only take cash. Our CFO called the owner, Josh, who was quite rude. She apologized for any bad behavior on the part of our employee, offered to fax over a statement that the charge would not be disputed if they would allow credit card payment and explained that because the banks were closed and our guys were out of town, cash payment would just not be possible. Josh became threatening. We called the Danville police who arrived on the scene. The bill was now up to $753.00 because Sid's decided to charge wait time at $3.00 per minute. After explaining our position to the police officer, she was able to persuade Sid's to stop escalating the price. In the end, we sent funds via Western Union to settle the $753.00 bill. Sid's had dispatched three trucks and about four or five people to the scene, which was threatening to our personnel. The police told us that our call was the third one WITHIN A WEEK that involved disputes with Sid's. For the record, we went back to the scene the next day and calculated the tow distance using a measuring wheel. It was 180 feet, about 160 of which was unnecessary. This bill should have been about $250.00. We hope you are not reading this after the fact! Our recommendation is to avoid Sid's Towing. There are plenty of other tow companies around.

Wonderful service. If all of your drivers are as kind as the one who came to my assistance, hats off to you. He was so nice and respectful. I had to get on the internet to get your address and the next time I am in Danville I am going to stop by and tell the owner how much I appreciated all the help your driver gave to me. My husband and I were the owners of Tri-County Charging and are still getting calls for service calls. Now I have your number and will be giving it out on these calls. My little Volkswagen and I say "thank you". I will be sending everyone to you from now on. You should be very proud of the young man who helped me.

Awasome People That Do Awasome Work. I rolled my rig over on 28 by 63 in little while back. The cop that showed up recommend this wrecker service so my company called them.

When they got there they asked me a few questions about my load and he noticed i had coffee and a few other thing spilt all over my self from the accident. They start setting up and closing the road down and a nice lady showed up with coffee and donuts and new clothes for me. That meant allot to me for them to go out of there way like that and i was happy as hell to get out of shirt. Couple min later my truck was back on its wheels. Them fellows are slicker then goose crap with them tow trucks.

I am not from around here and my company was not going to be down here till the next day so they took me to a hotel and even paid for it until my ride arrived to get me and the trailer. I still wear the hat ever day and when i am in the area next i will be stopping by to say hi.

Never would of thought of getting this kind of service from a wrecker company, now i know why they came highly recommend by the Indiana officer and know i am speaking from experience with them and there the best i have ever had to deal and seen in action,

thanks again guys for taking care of me,

Best in the area. I am committed to sids, I will never use anybody else, if i have to i will wait. There always nice and polite and never have nothing bad to say. I have used other services in the area and it seams like there always mad at sids or the next guy and to me i just don;t like a company that slings mud and make stuff up to try to gain my business.

Sids shows up and what ever i need gets done no questions ask and they smile while doing it. To me they are a company that takes pride in what they do and how they treat people and to me that is why sids is the best in the area.
