i won't be back!!!. where do i start? we asked for a room with 2 beds for me and a friend. they said sure. when we went inside the room, there was one bed and a fold out couch. hardly what i would call 2 beds without some sort of disclosure. we had to flip a coin for the bed. i lost. lol.

there was a cockroach in my shower. they killed it will a wash cloth and then left it in my tub thinking they took it in the cloth. the woman said, 'well it is the desert." well, i live in nyc so i know roaches. doesn't mean i want them in my shower.

ther was a chair in the smoking section with metal nails, yes NAILS plural, sticking out of it. wtf is that about?

the jets in the one tub that had them, was so too pressurized. it hurt me, literally. unacceptable really.

when we asked for good food in the area, the woman said she was new to the area and left it at that. she suggested one mexican spot and that's it. so much for options...

they told us to smoke in the smoking section, outside, of which they gave us a problem for when we checked out claiming we bothered other visitors.

in closing, i would never come back here, and i would definitely would try another spa instead of this one!

Perfect. When I walked through the front door it was as though I stepped into another world. Trickling water, cool shade, native vegetation, calm spirit all about. The room was beautifully spartan, but the king bed gloriously decadent. The airconditioning was outstanding and amazingly quiet. The various pools of warm, hot and very hot mineral waters were a delight. The grounds were beautiful and the nights, glorious. The staff was very helpful and pleaseant. The massages and facials were expertly done and totally relaxing. For two days and nights the world simply disappeared. What more can I say? Perfect!

Great Experience. An outstanding spa! We were greeted warmly and escorted through the grounds to a delightful changing room with a fabulous view. In the basket lockers were our robes and slippers. We changed, relaxed in the mineral pools which were immaculate and the water was incredible. It felt very different than regular water. Now I understand what mineral water is all about! I could have stayed in the water for hours. My therapist was Margot and she gave me a superb massage followed by an equally superb facial by Michelle. (and believe me, I do this a lot) My husband loved his deep tissue, as well. After the massage, we soaked again. Even though it was getting late, we never felt rushed. The staff were all very polite and accommodating. I highly recommend The Spring. I can't say enough. My only dissapointment was that we didn't choose The Spring for our overnight lodging as well. But next time...!

Not cool. Having read all the excellent reviews of The Spring, I made a reservation for my husband and me for two nights in late July. Like other reviewers, we found the neighborhood to be a bit run-down and uninspiring, but the hotel turned out to deliver all the appealing descriptions -- modernized hip motel feeling, very Zen-like, polished concrete floors, comfortable bed -- except for one unbelievably critical issue in 116 degree summer heat: the air conditioning was practically non-existent! It was so bad, we checked out after an hour or so, which required a lengthy, heated debate with the owner before she agreed to waive our bill.

As I said to the owner, we understood the desert would be excrutiatingly hot in the summer; nonetheless, any guest should have reason to believe the guest rooms would be sufficiently cooled. She and the hostess who checked us in admitted the air conditioner was turned on only one-half hour before we arrived (and we didn't arrive early). In that heat, it would take at least six hours to cool off the room! The walls would continue to radiate heat all night. I should add that the air conditioning isn't central-air; it's a small window unit that just can't do the trick in that type of heat, period. And the hostess only had it on "Energy Saver" instead of "Cool," which was shocking in itself. This was a heat wave, in the desert!

I could go on with my point of view, but I think the idea has been conveyed. Despite the fact that I didn't like having to argue about not being charged, I would give The Spring a try in the wintertime, when the heat isn't an issue. I can see how relaxing it could be, and then maybe we'd be willing to spend the $300 for two massages we'd planned -- and not worry that we'd be miserable from the heat during and afterward.
