great fish store in ventura county

i don't know what the previous reviewer is talking about. i was in Fins the other day and a customer came in with an electric blue lobster that had changed color. the "overweight older lady" and a seemingly very knowledgeable distributor's salesperson tried to explain after testing the customer's water, the lobster probably changed color due to high nitrites and nitrates and possibly what the customer might be feeding said lobster. they took a lot of time trying to explain the proper perameters and the way to achieve them. the customer just wanted to exchange the lobster that he bought 4 months previous for something else. He got angry and left in a huff. this guy sounds like the same guy. I think Fins tries to educate people in fish keeping as far as their knowledge lets them. in my experience, if they don't know the answer, they defer to someone who does or tell me they will try to find out. overall, they are helpful and courteous. the new owners are very kid friendly, more than the previous owners. the fishtanks are very clean and pretty and so is the store. i would recommend this store to anyone with an aquarium.

AWFUL!

If you have shopped around enough, you will find that there is not much difference between TAT and FINS. HOWEVER, when it comes to customer service, FINS is HORRIBLE! I have been to this store 3 times, and every single time received poor and rude customer service. If customer satisfaction means something to you, I do not recommend this store. GO to this store enough times and you will see what i mean... I went to this store 1 too many times to realize this and it cost me in the long run because they do not back up their products nor do they value me as a customer. These people (especially the older heavy set woman) are NOT friendly so beware if you are new to this hobby, dont let them con you into believing they are genuinely nice people. I found it is worth my while to shop at TAT, where the service is much better, they are patient to educate, and customer satisfaction matters. Also, this store is not KID friendly. FINS is not worthy of my hard earned money and will not spoil my love for this hobby. The previous post really sounds like someone who is pro FINS, but i am being honest about my experience and i have absolutely no vested interested in TAT, i just had much better service at TAT.
