Great service

I took my truck in last year. Just sent over a buddy, thought i would share my story here. I have a 99 ford super duty powerstroke. The transmission would only work for about two or three miles then it just quits pulling. I shut the truck off then start it right back up then it is fine for another couple of miles. I did drain the fluid and it was burnt I thought maybe this is my problem? Anyhow, I went to this aamco in merced and they were very helpful. I explained what was happeneing and they really were great. They explained that it sounded like my fluid may have lost is viscosity. Asked if I had changed my fluid. Plus, told me that my tranny will start to wear over time, however the old fluid will remain sticky and help the bands adhere to each other. If you change the fluid for new, the detergent in the new will clean up the bands and they will start to slip. Well I told to fix me up and they did! I haven't had a problem since and here I thought I may need a whole new transmission!! I am glad I went there cuz otherwise they might have steered me wrong. I will always go back to them there at Merced Aamco.

AAMCO Rocks!

I had an awesome experience at this shop! They were very busy with other cars, but they took the time to really explain what was going on with my car. I had no clue as to what to expect or how much this was gonna cost!

Especially what I was gonna have done.

They were great! They said 9 days and it was done in 7.

So way cool for me. I thought it was great how they put it in terms that I could understand when they told me to get a rebuilt one/or other options!

I will recommend all my frineds to this location.

stay away from these crooks

I took my ElCamino to them last year, the tranny was going out. They quoted me one price, and then tried to charge me another, the work took almost 2week, when they had said 4 days, it was like 12 days. Then when I picked it up, it was leaking fluid badly. I took it back in they supposely fixed it that transmission never worked. If I didn't know better, they didn't even replace it. But I sure did pay for it. They had a bad attitude, when I had to choose to have anoher used tranny put in, instead of buying a rebuilt one like they wanted to sell me. Even the used one all together it was almost 2,000. When i picked it up, he tried charging me more than the estimate. The transmission has never shifted properly, but when I kept taking it back, nothing ever got done. Finallyh their very short warranty on the work ran out, and if you ask me I was taken for the 1800.00 I paid them. There was NO improvement, they were rude, lied, and cheated me.
