For more than 60 years, this all-American institution has been serving its signature chicken and home-style sides. – In Short
Established in 1939, this fast-food restaurant still makes its legendary fried chicken with the closely guarded blend of 11 herbs and spices originally created by founder Colonel Sanders. Modern additions to the menu include oven-roasted renditions of its chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, potato wedges and wraps. Classic sides include flaky, oversized biscuits, steaming-hot mashed potatoes and gravy, smoky-sweet baked beans and crisp, generously dressed coleslaw. Kids and adults love the "little bucket" parfaits of pudding desserts.
On the Menu but you can't have it – What's on the menu isn't for purchase. I went to this KFC in Bremerton and to seek out a 'chicken pie'. It was on the menu, I ordered two. The girl behind the counter asked me if I had called them in? I said no? She said people call them in but she would check in the back. She returned to tell me there was only one chicken pie, sorry. I got upset, didn't see that you had to call it in on the menu....I ordered nothing and left.
This is a real problem in our area with KFC, it's not what it says.
It's pretty hard to measure success of an item if they don't allow you to purchase one.
The chicken pie of about the only thing we like from KFC, the rest of their chicken items can be pretty greasy if it's been sitting.
The saddest part of this story is that I emailed KFC corporate and never have gotten a reply. This is my second email sent to them because I experienced a similar problem with the chicken pie at the Silverdale KFC. It appears to me that they don't care about the public that they serve nor it's opinion of what they like.
I have been to KFC 4 times in the last year and each time there is a problem. This one is a big one for me.
I hope that everyone out there will voice their complaints to the corporation because they have gotten lousy and I don't see many people eating in them. Perhaps another icon will go down, bet Sanders didn't intend for this to happen..
Avoid it if you can, high fat anyway.
