Clean and chaotic, Chuck E. Cheese's is part arcade, part playground, part children's theater. The arcade is refreshingly free from shoot-'em-up, assault-weapon games, instead sticking to cartoon-variety machines and a few high-octane auto-racing games for the older siblings (and parents). The playground, a huge collection of multi-colored plastic balls and elevated Sky Tubes, provides a great opportunity to send tykes up the pipeline while grownups catch their breath. In the Show Room, life-size animal robots perform a maddening loop of catchy songs. The food is the type most everyone can agree upon--pizza, chicken, soda and crunchy snacks. Plus enough candy to keep Junior flying for a week.
