What People Are Saying About William Randolph Hearst Greek Theatre

In Short – Funded by a donation from William Randolph Hearst in 1903, this 8,000-seat amphitheater exudes the unmistakable influence of ancient Greek architecture. Concrete risers and an expansive column-backed stage lie entirely under the open sky and aid in the acoustics. Used primarily for rock concerts, political speeches and campus rallies, the theater has hosted performers and speakers such as the White Stripes, the Dalai Lama and Janet Reno. –
One of the best venues to watch music!

We love hearing music here. The only thing is you need to get there early to get a decent seat. The grass in the back is a little sloped and farther away. We like sitting on the steps. The ideal is to get a seat at the very top so you can lean your back on the wall.
- Pros: Good views
- Cons: get there early for a good seat!
