The county employees at Schabarum Park are great as long as you obey the rules and act appropriately. This is a park. PlatinumBlondelife97 - seems you were probably speeding and the park person was attempting to remind you of the lower speed limit within the park. Your failure to acknowledge or slow down made the employee attempt to stop you because you are in a park. You must have a disdain for people that appear to be lower in status than yourself. I find the park staff goes out of their way to help people and maintain the park.
RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE PARK STAFF!!!!!!. I wouldn't give this park any stars only because the staff is RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!! I went around a speed bump, someone in a parks and recreation vehicle yelled some stupid a$$hole comment out his window and proceeded to follow me up to the top of the parking area. I turned around to come back down and he attempted to block me and nearly hit my vehicle in the process! I'll tell you what, if I EVER see you there again, you will get the beating of your life and on top of that, from a girl. The hell with you!
quintessential suburban park. I always used to come here as a child for every type of outdoor celebration, but what I really appreciate about good ol' Schabarum would have to be their hiking trails. My parents would force me to go on Saturday mornings, and though I would hate it at the moment, it was very peaceful and relaxing. But beware, my dad once told me somebody got bitten by a snake or some type of reptile... or was it a spider?
Surprise in Suburbia. This is a nice little find (formerly Otterbein Park) in the middle of the suburbs. Lots of little trails, a great view once you get to the top of the not too taxing hills. You'll find families there for birthdays and celebrations on weekends (there are picnic areas) and an older crowd of regulars--dogwalkers and people practicing Tai Chi--on the weekdays.
