A romantic hideaway with a restaurant that's worth visiting.. The Scene
Tucked away in a pine forest, this is the perfect spot for those who want to get away from it all. The main building, once a farmhouse, dates back to 1790, and there's a second house nearby. The charming rooms have sloping roofs and exposed wood beams; some come with private decks. The gardens are extensive and beautiful; stroll in the apple orchard, relax in the hammock, read a book in the gazebo, or just sit on the veranda.

The Details
Nearby Lambert's Cove Beach is one of the Vineyard's prettiest, and hotel guests get passes (the beach is otherwise restricted to local residents). There's an all-weather tennis court, all rooms come with air-conditioning, and complimentary breakfast each morning. The excellent country-style restaurant sees busy traffic from both guests and visitors.
