Editorial Review for Bungalow Club – by Katie Heffernan
In Short
This dual bar and restaurant brings two floors of Moroccan flair to the Melrose strip. Dangling metallic stars, leafy tropical plants and two trickling waterfalls create dimly lit intimacy in multiple lounges, topped only by the patio's candlelit bungalows. Electronica beats provide background for friendly conversation, romantic dates and the weekend's busy, easygoing singles scene. The Mediterranean-leaning international menu includes hummus, egg rolls, sushi and specialty martinis like the mint chocolate.

My experience was pretty mixed. I went with a group of about 8-10 people for a birthday celebration. The place is easy enough to find but what's up with that creepy fenced off abandoned staircase right next to the entrance? They gave us our own little section in the Morrocan room but I found the seating was a little off. The couch by the window was close to the ground and really soft so you feel like you're almost in bed which made it hard to eat our appetizers. It also makes conversation with someone in a chair feel strange since you're looking up at them. Food wise, I love lamb i had to try their lamb lollipops. They were really lollipop sized but tasted pretty good. I'd recommend their crab cakes too. The drinks were mixed well but just took a while to get the bartenders attention.
Pros: food, drinks, service
Cons: seating somewhat uncomfortable

We are still hearing from friends and family how amazing our wedding was, how great the food was and just how much fun they had. Anat and her staff made our wedding the most memorable experience possible. We had a wedding planner steal alot of our money. We walked into the Bungalow Club to see about the location and ended up having the wedding that we were supposed to. Thank you to the Bungalow Club and its staff.
