Great microbrewed beer makes up for average food.

The food is fair. There are some tasty appetizers and good dinners. In my experience, the cooks need a little more instruction on how to grill steaks, expecially since that is the restaurants specialty. I ordered a medium steak and I got extra well done.
The beer they brew onsite is excellent, however. They have a seasonal variety of about 10 different kinds on tap at a time and they sell bottles as well. If you want a good stout (and a change from the always great Guiness), Hereford and Hopps offers the best.
This is also a great place for a wedding reception. They have a new hall built in the basement with a full bar and seating for 300+.
- Pros: Beer, the bar
- Cons: average food
Great Concept, But...
by mikeco at Citysearch
Great concept for the frozen tundra. Grill your own steaks over massive grills, drink a pint of homebrew (all during the dead of winter in Wisconsin). The only problem is that the food is not up to par. The steaks are generally tough and grizzled. Most of the other entrees and sides are simply nothing special. The grill your own concept is fun...however that seems to lead to a less than attentive service staff.
