If you haven't been to the historical Ishnala Restaurant (supper club) when you visited the Dells, then come back to the area, even if just for the night, and give it a try. I have been to EVERY bar, restaurant, supper club, eatery in the Dells/Lake Delton/Briggsville area.

Located in a peaceful surrounding only accessible through the narrow and winding road into the Mirror Lake State Park protected area. Not part of the state park, but the only business to actually still operate on the lake. The Damn Bar is on your way in or out, but not this historic, and not this tasteful. I suggest an after dinner beer there if you take that side road home.

Family friendly, yet I highly suggest leave the kids under 12 at home. If they are older, they appreciate the surroundings more and of course, behave better as well. With it's historical building and wonderful-perfect sunset views from the bar or deck/tiki bar room and it's relaxing music and over all ambiance you are sure to enjoy your dinner out. No fancy dress code, jeans and t-shirt okay, practical attire, but no cut off sleeves/pants, and definately no swim wear or coverups!

One of the BEST experiences in the Dells that you will have. They don't take reservations, but open early. The worst part of the evening will be the wait for a table if you go at prime time 6:30-8:30 pm - but remember, you are in the Dells. Every restaurant in the area gets busy when it gets dark, and cooler, and the waterparks start slowing down. Plan sunset cocktails..

Plan a girls night out - like we do. Plan a romantic dinner for 2 to rekindle your tired marriage. Plan a first date......there are thousands of rooms to choose from if your dinner goes well.

Don't miss an opportunity to visit Ishnala which has always had great food, great drinks, great service and great homemade cheese spread to keep you busy before your meal. (hey, this is Wisconsin!)

Like my friends, I'm sure you'll be back again. Laughter is allowed, memories will be made.

• Cons: long wait some nights - too full on dinner drinks to eat!
