This was my first time at Lombardi's. I had heard good reviews about the great food, service and atmosphere, but that was not my experience.
The atmosphere was more like that of a sports bar, minus the big screen. A number of tables were filled with men in baseball caps, and it was loud. The tables are positioned close together and though the dining area was only partially filled, it was difficult to hold a conversation without raising my voice.
The service was good, but not exceptional. Our server explained every entree on the menu, in detail. I felt as thought she was trying to justify the exorbitant price of the steaks, though she could not tell us much about the different cuts.
The single portion steaks are priced from $32-49. All sides are separately priced.
I ordered the Kansas City Strip, and my dinner companion had the House Specialty - Bone-in Ribeye. The steaks were very good, but no better than some of our other local restaurants.
The sides dishes, garlic smashed potatoes and steamed asparagus, were excellent, generously portioned and reasonably priced.
Overall, the food was good, but the experience was not worth the price.…
Unbelievable. This restaurant was a hit - ambiance, great food and service. Their portions are huge!! They have the largest and best crab legs that I have ever eaten. And their desserts are unbelieveable to see. We had a big football made out of chocolate and was filled with strawberries and whipped cream. Will have to go there again just for the desserts as we couldn't even put a dent in it after eating the rest of our meal. There were a lot of big groups on one side and also families/kids there but with the jazz music we didn't even notice them so I would guess that no matter what reason you went (ours was a date night) you would have a great time. Would recommend making reservations as it looked like the people without them were waiting for awhile - we had them so we didn't have to wait.…
