mouthwatering, fresh, spicy, friendly, fantastic! – After seeing this restaurant coming off of 512 for years, the conditions were finally right and I got to try it out. It was much less formal than I expected, casual but comfy and could have been take out. I had a crawfish meal that was superb, and my friend had fried catfish, that was fresh, flavorful, breaded to perfection, probably the best fish I've ever tasted. The place was clean and cheerful, great music playing, and the owner treated us like old friends. This is without question the best restaurant I have found in Tacoma, it's a joy to come across a family business where so much care and pride goes into every dish. Highly recommend!
"real deal" new orleans cuisine – If you r from the "greater New Orleans" area n miss real N.O.food reasonably priced n that N.O. ambience this place will bring u back 2 N.O.:The atmosphere/ambience is really N.O. w/ the color scheme(bright "Mardi Gras" colors),music from local N.O. musicians (Neville brothers, brass bands) coming from the speakers. There is even some local newspapers from N.O. on display used for the "crawfish" bolied when n season shipped up from N.O.
I knew it was the real deal N.O. food when the owner told me they get their "hot sausages" for the "PoBoy" sandwich shipped up from N.O. from a local N.O. meat company (Patton's sausages) i was sold on the food. "gumbo" was really good w/nice size shrimp/ sausages etc, "crawfish bisque" was also good, and the menu has some cajun items featured as appetizers such as:" alligator sausages" and "fried frog legs" etc. Gotta try this place if u r here in Washington from N.O. n missing the food this is the real deal....
Authentic Creole cusine – The Best Creole cooking I've had since I left New Orleans. It takes alot of talent to balance the spices in this type of cooking. Absolutely delicious food. The place isn't very big but what it lacks in size it makes up for with the flavor in the food. Blackened Catfish to die for!!! Crawfish Atouffe' was exquisite. Price was very reasonable. Most entrees 10 to 15 dollars. We will definately be back!!! This place is definately one of our new favorite places. Authentic sweetened tea like they make it down South!!!
Cajun & Creole – A bit expensive, but you will find no better of it's genre within fifty miles. The owners and operators are the genuine article. If you want the real flavor of the Bayou with out the hassle of a reservation, this is where you need to go.
