Completely bizzare experience

by enumclawnative at Citysearch

We gathered as a group of 7 to celebrate a family birthday on a Friday evening, and it turned out to be the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. So much so, that I feel obligated to write my first restaurant review. As strange as it may seem, we were greeted by just one server...and she was literally high as a kite on what seemed like methamphetamines. Seriously. I couldn't believe it! She couldn't get anything straight, even though we were the only ones there, fumbled around and even attempted to intimidate a member of our party after she made a mistake on our wine order. Needless to say, it was not the relaxing evening we had expected! It felt like a bad dream. The rest of the staff simply stared and then gathered and whispered about the situation. It took 2 hours and wasn't even that great, especially considering the $330 bill! What a joke! A drugged out server and no professionalism or customer service what so ever. There is no chance that I would ever return to the establishment.

  • Pros: No one else eating there
  • Cons: Waitress on methamphetamines

If you want a intimate place with live music on the weekends, you might want to give this establishment a try

by TheNihilist at Citysearch

I have dined on many occasions at Coho's, it is always a relaxed and pleasant experience. The hostess and servers do their best to make their guests happy. I've enjoyed most of the items from their menu and all have been prepared, cooked and served to my satisfaction. This isn't the Canlis or the Met Grill, it is a very nice cozy and friendly place. Some of my guests who have had minor problems, have had their meals re-done with many, many apologies and a free dessert. It is very surprising and difficult to imagine a problem that cannot be resolved on the spot when the owner is usually there watching the diners. It could happen but I find it doubtful even on a busy Saturday evening.

This establishment wants people to enjoy themselves and return. After leaving my pen on the table, I was happy to receive a call the next day by my waitress asking me about it and that they were holding it for me. If you want a intimate place with live music on the weekends, you might want to give this establishment a try.

  • Pros: Cozy and intimate with live music on the weekends
  • Cons: A small establishiment with a somewhat limited menu due to size

coho's an extreme disapointment

by localcritic at Citysearch

I was very disapointed with my experience at coho's. As an avid diner and foodie I was excited to finally have something worth going to in my hometown unfortunately that was not the case. When I went in the place was a zoo. I thought great they must be doing something right. Nope, the one poor waitress was so stressed out she couldn't even look me in the eye when I ordered and seemed irritated with our presence in general and after about 45 min we got our appetizers and and good 2 hours later our cold food. My dining companion had a special order due to an extreme allergy and it was not accomodated so another 30 to flag my waitress down i got our bill and no boxes for our untouched cold meal. Then came the good part....as we got our credit slip back it seems we were charged not only for our full uneaten meal but for another tables as well. Upon pointing this out we were told it would be fixed at THEIR convenience and no they do not provide void slips. Three days later it was still not reversed and the harried waitress apparently was not satisfied with her 15% ( generous in my opinion) so promptly added a few more dollars of her own. The wonderful owner when called on this matter let me know that she has plenty more customers and does not need or care about me. WOW is all I had left to say.

A hidden gem in a gastronomic wasteland

by toby at Citysearch

The staff at Coho deserves a lot of praise for making a really good dining experience in, of all places, Buckley. They have a pretty good wine list and the food is imaginative for such a location, a great place to stop on your way back from Crystal or Mount Rainier. You will be surprised by the menu and quality of the food.

The only warning that I would have is that Coho serves a "Buckley" size portions, so order accordingly. The last time we went there we just had wine and appetizers, plenty filling and excellent.

Staff is pleasant and accomodating.
