From the Bayou is a cute little out of the way Cajun food. It is really good and friendly service the atmosphere is great! It is located in Parkland by PLU. Good place to eat.

This was not my first visit to this restaurant but it sure will be my last. I ate a cup of soup served barely warm, found the crayfish salad inedible. I returned it graciously and received a bill for $10.00 for the cup of soup. Both my husband and I felt unwell from the food. We were there with a group and we are part of the GLBT Community. I feel that we received blatant discrimination.

Sorry to say that Kevin's fabulous Bayou baby is long gone now -- he moved back to Louisiana and left the place in the hands of a partnership who retained some of the menu while getting their own place underway as Jambalaya. We used to frequent From the Bayou for its gorgeous atmosphere (the owners' own terrific collections of Louisiania combined with superb murals and handmade furnishings designed and made by local artists and artisans like Shanna Duncan and Jody Coleman). We came back many times for the great service and friendliness, and especially for the addictive jalapeno cornbread muffins, ethereal catfish, silky etouffees, and more -- not least, decadent desserts from the likes of Barbara Pasi. Jambalaya didn't hold a candle to the Bayou when I went in a couple of times in its first few months, so I haven't ventured back to learn how it survived the shakedown in the long run. Hope they stepped up; our Cajun haven is deeply missed.
