Would not recommend to my friends – I went there for an evening meal. Food was very bland and disappointing. The chicken tasted like it had been cooked a couple of days earlier and just warmed up. The crazy thing is this is probably the most expensive indian restarant in the area!
When you go to a restaurant, the prices and the decor set some expectations. The food and service did not meet these expectations.
Excellent Indian Buffet – This is the place to go if you want to try authentic Indian food. There lunch buffet is the best bet and features a range of appetizers, vegetarian and non vegetarian curries, rice, salad, bread and sweet dish. With such an extensive menu, everyone is sure to find stuff suiting to one's palate. Nice ambience, great customer service makes it a unique dining experience.
I have heard that they have amazing catering service also for small Parties. Got food delivered at home couple of times.
Peacock India Is Consistently Good! – Yipes! I just logged on to find a new Indian restaurant for dinner tonight on the north shore and saw the most recent review of Peacock where someone really had a terrible experience with the waitstaff... Man, let me assure you that this is not consistently the case. I am a regular customer at this restaurant and I really enjoy the food and find the service to be pretty decent, if not really good all of the time. I have been going to this restaurant for a very long time. I was a patron before they moved the restaurant from their location across Rte 21 (and no, I don't work for the restaurant!)
Most importantly, the food is always good at Peacock and I've never been disappointed here. I take that back- the one time that I was unhappy, I was able to have my order corrected without a huge hassle. I've been there at lunch and I've found that they carry a decent selection of food at their lunch buffet. But I've found that entrees are not piping hot as the food languishes on a buffet table. I chalk that up to the nature of a buffet so I don't come during lunch very often.
All in all I really enjoy this restaurant. I like the linen tablecloths and napkins, the absence of intrusive televisions playing Bollywood videos, I like the waitstaff that maintain a discrete distance, and I enjoy the food that is reliably good. Peacock gets my vote for a very good and decent restaurant.
Very bad.. – I went there once even after reading the couple of bad reviews in this site...what a huge mistake it was.. .the staff was totally unprofessional and they do not qualify to be in the service industry by any means. It is highly suspicious if they themselves write the good reviews here.
THE BEST THERE IS – This is the BEST there is and as close to India you can get. Wonderful owner and staffs. Friendly, warm and you are treated like a King or Queen. Makes you want to go again and again. Excellent dishes, the softest Indian bread and delicious curries. Go and enjoy.
AVOID!!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!!! – plzz avoid this restaurant.. i just moved to this area and thought i will check out this place... it is really really bad.. the food is expensive, no good ambience , unprofessional staff.. Infact i don't have to write a review , as soon as you enter you will notice the dirty old glasses and worn down menu's...
The food is not good at all.. I have been around the country and have tasted indian food in the US... this has been my worst experience.. Most indian restaurants give the bread (Naan) free with a curry of your choice.. but not here you will pay through for everythin.. Even if you decide to go.. pls don't order any lamb dishes.. the meat tastes stale ...
Avoid this Restaurant at all Costs – I tried to throw my parents 25th anniversary party at this restaurant, and they treated me poorly because I am female. I contacted them 2 months prior to the event so as to ensure that they would be able to give me the entire restaurant for my party (my party was about 100 people). The manager ensured me that I would be able to have the entire restaurant and quoted me the price per person. After they had taken my deposit, they proceeded to call me and tell me that the owner did not want to give me the restaurant for my party because I was not paying enough money, only 2 WEEKS before the party! I was forced to find another venue, reprint invitations, and apologize to all of my guests because of Peacock India's greedy and dishonest practices. They have no respect for their customers and are very unprofessional and are liars. I will never do business with them again.
Best Indian buffet in the suburbs!!! – I go to Peacock for lunch and they have the most fantastic buffet. All you can eat samosa's, naan, paneer, curry chicken and more. They rotate the menu so you can try different things! The best is their mango ice cream for dessert!! Service is attentive and nice. If you like Indian food you will not be dissapointed.
