Family Fishery - Good food
by DaddyVinny at Citysearch
Not all the food is fried. I usually have there steamed or broiled dinners. It's a nice family restaurant with a nice ambient. I truly enjoy coming here. I love the Salmon dinners and Lake Superior White fish dinners. They are my favorite. I asked the owner why the fried shrimp was so good. He told me that they always by the shrimp with the shell on and de-shell and de-vain in house, therefore the natural sea salt is in the shrimp. The scallops are also brought in fresh, not frozen most of the year. He said to ask what is in season, for the best pricing, so I have been doing that. This is a great place for a tasty seafood dinner.
Great Seafood at a Great Price

Our family loves the Family Fishery. The kids love the shrimp and nuggets, and we regularly get a value pack on the weekends. My favorite is the king crab legs all-u-can-eat nights--I think they're on Thurs. & Sat. For $22.99 the crablegs keep coming & they are SOOO good!
- Pros: Awesome King Crablegs!!!
- Cons: The place gets really busy
Too Expensive for what you get!!!!!!

We have been there before and this price has been increasing and the service and the amount you get has been decreasing. It states on the wall crab comes around every 10 minutes, well I timed it yesterday and it took over 20 minutes. I then had to get up to ask for more. The help just stood around and what looked like just talking in the kitchen instead of taking care of the customers. It says king crab and you only get snow crab until the last round is served. How misleading is that.....
- Pros: The taste of the crab is good.
- Cons: The signs are misleading.
Go for the All You Can Eat Crab Legs!!

I've been to this restaurant three times, and will return many more. This place is a little deceiving - it looks like a seafood market from the street - well, it's that too. The claim to fame for this little place is the Tuesday night all-you-can-eat crab legs. For $12.99 you can eat plenty. In fact, they push the things on you! The crab is to die for, surprisingly. I would compare the quality to any that I've had at any higher-end seafood restaurant. A great way to feed a family on a limited budget as well.
On the negative side - this place is tiny. There is limited seating. If you're going for the AYCE crab night, I would recommend getting there early (they start serving at 4pm). The owner is also apparently a White Sox fan. That can't be helped - so Cubs fans put your blinders on!!
- Pros: Crab Legs, Sides are Tasty, Value, Value, Value
- Cons: Small Dining Area, White Sox Fan
