Eclectic bistro fare at a value draws a devoted following in Lake Zurich.. In Short
Despite its suburban strip mall location, D&J is an oasis of Gallic charm, with stucco walls framed in dark wood and covered with quaint artwork and posters. The menu features bistro classics and eclectic global offerings (mostly Asian and Italian)--all at value prices. Starters include cold, house-cured foie gras with fig chutney and lobster risotto with braised fennel. Intriguing entrees include sauteed skate wing and signature braised lamb shank. Profiteroles are a fine finish.

Exquisite. Contrary to some of the above comments, I have found D&J Bistro to have continually great service, and wonderful food. I enjoy the casual dinning dress and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. I am fully aware that they do not have a "kitchen closing time". Their food is excellent as well as their service, keep in mind you will be treated the way you treat others. Patience is always nice to have when a nice restaurant like this is extremely busy. After all, a good restaurant is a busy one. I have recomended and will continue to recomend this wonderful little Bistro to all of my acquaintances and business relations. I am out of town but manage to go out of my way at least 15 times a year to dinner while on business trips.
