Great Food, Wonderful Service

My fiancee and i had a wonderful experience at Carlos's. We live in La Grange, il, and had to make quite a journey to get there... but it was worth it.
Hey, guys come to La Grange. We were voted best downtown by chicago magazine, and we are a community of restaurant lovers! We would welcome you, support, and embrace you!
- Pros: Sophistication and Warmth both present at Carlos'
Terrific and Friendly Service

We ate at Carlos on Halloween night. Our first impression was the bowl of candy and Carlos and all the wait staff taking time to talk to the neighborhood kids while they came in trick or treating from the Highland Park neighborhood. At first that seemed strange for a fancy French restaurant but by the end of the evening we realized it was just how Carlos is. They pay great attention to service and detail and the room is beautiful but you are treated like a guest in a home of an old friend.
The food is very high quality and the preparation is solid. Not over the top French...just lots of layers and fresh clean flavors We had filet and sea bass. Both were great. The souffle and molten cake desserts were a highlight. Huge wine list and high end wines by the glass too. A really fun and romantic meal!
- Pros: Service, Carlos himself floating around, Great wines
- Cons: A bit pricey
