Texas--themed barbecue chain provides carnivores with a family-friendly spot for a hand-cut steak or rack of tender ribs. – In Short
With dozens of locations spread across most of the country, this faux-roadhouse chain has become a dependable spot for families in search of a casual spot for affordable steaks and down-home comfort fare. The playful menu is dotted with kid-friendly titles (chicken "critters," "road kill" chopped sirloin) and options (add caramel and marshmallow to a baked sweet potato for a dollar). In-house hand-cut steaks come in a plethora of cuts and sizes.
A good meal – Roadhouse is a chain, which loses a few points in my book, but is a really good place to eat in town. The food is pretty good, and is not that expensive at all (considering what you're getting.) The wait is often long (reservations not accepted), but the service is usually extremely friendly.
User review by erinite – great for the price. lots of steaks in lots of sizes. I'm not overly impressed with the sides, but a 6oz serloin by itself is worth the $7.99, and the mashed potatoes and steak fries are good, who cares if you're getting 2 potatoes. They bring you as many rolls as you can eat with as much cinnamon butter as you want and they have barrels of roasted peanuts with the shells. You shuck them and throw them on the floor. It's a fun atmosphere, not a romantic date spot, unless she grew up down on the farm.
Finally, Fast Food with Flair – Very impressed with the service and quality of food. Great staff and fine food. Don't fret, this place is great
