We spent so much time talking with counselors and staff and teachers while our daughter was at Heartlight that they became like family to us. We never sat and wondered how she was doing. The regular counseling reports and school progress reports kept us current on every step of her progress, and if we had questions the staff was just a quick email or phone call away. We stayed closely involved with all that was going on. It was a blessing to watch our daughter blossom under the care of the staff at Heartlight Ministries.

Heartlight has given us back our precious girl. She was lost in a world I can barely comprehend, but now she is whole again. She is the loving, responsible girl I always dreamed she would become. Even better, she accepts that God has a purpose for her life. God’s dreams for her are much grander than mine.

The admissions counselors spoke with me at length about my daughter’s situation before we enrolled her at Heartlight. Still, it was my first visit to campus that made me feel comfortable with sending her there. Besides the gorgeous views and the spacious facilities, there was a sense of peace and confidence in all of the staff. I met a few older students who had been in my daughter’s shoes just a few months before and heard how they have learned to walk with God since coming to Heartlight. I trust the staff at Heartlight to let God do His good work in my daughter’s life. She is in good hands!

Our daughter had been through a short-term program before with mixed results. We did a lot of research before we found Heartlight. When our daughter finished the program there, she had a new heart. We are incredibly thankful for the ministry and the caring staff of Heartlight. We believe it is the best among many outstanding Christian programs.

Our son has been home three months now after a year at Heartlight. We are so thankful for everyone who worked with him while he was there. He talks all the time about his mentor and the friends he made and all the fun things he experienced while he was there. The follow-up care has been great. We’ve had a few bumps in the road, but the counselors who have kept in touch and all the resources they’ve offered have made his homecoming much smoother. Thank you for your commitment to families.

This Program Deserves an A. I did not enroll my teen at Heartlight but would not hesitate to do so if the need arises. Heartlight is more concerned about teens and families then they are about filling up their program. I have toured their campus and met their counselors. There program is top notch but the thing that impressed me most was that they were more concerned of fixing the problem then getting me to enroll. They have many resources they offer for use in your hime, radio programs, daily parenting tips, workshops and seminars and they will even recommend other schools for you to look into. The staff and program are fantastic. Thank you hEartlight for all you do for America's teens and their families.

Great Place to Start if Your Teen Is In Trouble. Heartlight is an outstanding Christian ministry that has turned around the lives of many young people! Great staff goes out of their way to see that teens and parents get the help they need.

Best Resource For Parents of Struggling Teens. Heartlight has been helping the parents of teens for over 20 years. This place is truly amazing. Everything is geared to help parents and teens. Their founder, Mark Gregston, travels around the country all the time giving away resources, books, raising money for needy parents looking for scholarships and holding conferences and retreats to share his valuable message to parents and teens. The program only helps 50-60 kids at a time but the ministry there reaches out to thousands every month. If Heartlight doesn't have room for your teen or if your child's needs are different, they WILL find you the right help at absolutely no cost to you. You won't find a more resourceful ministry for parents and teens. Need help? Inquire with them and they will do all they can to help.

Heartlight works, if the parents also contribute. Some parents simply don't get involved in their child's healing, or they get in the way of it, so of course, nothing can help their child. I surmise that is what is going on with the negative review from Mr. Dickinson. He sounds like he needs some counseling. Our child did wonderfully at Heartlight and the staff and facilities were excellent. It was a life saver for all of us. Ask other parents and they will tell you...don't listen to what one ranting parent (listed under different names) has to say. Heartlight is the cream of the crop of such programs. It is highly recommended by leading counselors, and it doesn't deserve such negative comments.

Sad experience. Overall this program is nothing more than an expensive behavior modification program. The psychological counseling was inexperienced. My child suffered with dysregulated thinking and an inability to establish a life narrative that spanned more than a few days. They didn't know what to do and after 11 months kicked her out , no graduation and sent us back a kid worse off than when she arrived. And all for about $60K. Make sure a program has the tools to help your child. That they even understand what's wrong. They should have been honest and turned us away at the start due to the lack of training.
