Rustic Italian done well

My wife and I are big fans of Vinny’s at Night, which we understand is owned by a family member of this Vinny's.

We started with the antipasto salad. Had a touch to much balsamic vinegar, but the greens were very fresh and the meats were tasty. Serving size was generous.

My wife, who is Irish and couldn't help herself, ordered the Haddock with basil and tomatoes, was very pleased.

I ordered the osso bucco, and was floored. Fork tender in a rich marinara sauce filled with caramelized onion, carrots, and tomatoes. Serving size was good for two dinners.

Desert was tiramisu for my wife and cheese cake for me.

All told, with a good tip and a glass of wine for my wife, tab came to $88. I think it was very much worth it…

REAL ITALIAN

This is wonderful Italian food, fresh and absolutely delicious. This is REAL Italiam food and it is to-die-for! There is no need to travel to the North End. This Somerville establishment is a gem! The service is also good and they make you feel right at home!

Good 'neighborhood' Italian resturaunt

This is a great spot for some good Italian food in a neighborhood restaurant atmosphere. The menu is small but broad and, as mentioned before, their homemade fussili is very impressive. Their wine list could use some work, but the staff is quite knowledgeable when it comes to what they have.

Not as fancy as some places in the North End, its decor is a step up from the plastic table cloths of Vinny's at Night down the street. Easy to feel at home.

Long story short, if you need absolutely amazing food, wine or amazing ambiance (and are willing to pay for it), you might decide to travel further, but if a good Italian meal in a comfortable atmosphere at a good price is what you're after, this is your place.
