Disgusting Bad Sushi – Usually good, but not reliable for consistent good fresh sushi, pass and go elsewhere!
An oasis in Sudbury... – I cannot believe I had not been here sooner - kinda tricky to locate and I drive the road everyday. That being said, absolutey fabulous and fresh.
Compared to my other sushi ventures, what will bring me back to Oishii is their diverse nigri and sashimi menu. Reasonably priced - and more to choose from. Sea bass, mackarel, white salmon, and it was perfect.
I love spending my lunches out sitting at a bar, and the chefs are friendly and attentive. Only thing I wish is that I could watch them as they make it but the way the bar is designed you can only see their faces.
If you find yourself tired of the Framingham-Natick route 9 scene - plug this address in your GPS and give it a try. Only about a 15 to 20 min drive from Natick area.
Outstanding sushi/sashimi – Excellent quality and variety. The food is always fresh. Raw scallop is excellent - had that many times and it's always fresh. The lighting is a bit dark. The setting was more "family" like before the remodeling a year or two ago..now it looks more like a restaurant in the Boston/Newbury St area. Waiters and waitress are polite. The chefs could use some smile.
Food and Service Beyond Expectations, but Time Your Visit to Avoid Wait List and Children – I joined the forum just so I could comment on how fantastic our dining experience was tonight at Oishii Too in Sudbury. I felt I needed to add my views to those left previously, since they didn't reflect the restaurant I remembered dining at last year. My husband, son and I went to celebrate my son's Graduation. I was worried about not getting seating, so we rushed there at 5:30 pm (Sunday), which was wise; by 6 pm there was a waiting line and we were thankfully enjoying our green tea. The service was friendly and prompt. Although they were busy, we never felt rushed. The highlight , however, was the food - which was beyond fantastic. We tried so many different items, and all were better than we've had: sashimi, maki, miso, salads, nagiri, udon, tempura, una ju, specialty ice cream. Without question, the perfect choice for our celebration. Be forewarned, however, families with children outnumbered adult diners (at one point we counted nine children and thirteen adults, with two active toddlers and parents waiting to be seated in the small space), and while, for the most part, children (and babies) were well-behaved (not to mention a muted television screen at two corners of the sushi bar), it created a noisy, active atmosphere. If you want absolutely wonderful food, arrive early and be willing to accept the potential noisy presence of children - but we all agreed the food was well worth the trade-off and we would simply time our next visit a little more carefully (perhaps a week-night instead of Sunday night). I would highly recommend Oishii Too in Sudbuy!
Sister location of award-winning sushi spot serves expertly prepared Japanese fare. – In Short
With more seating than the original Chestnut Hill location, Oishii Too is better for parties of four or more looking to enjoy gourmet sushi. Those seated at the sushi bar find themselves face-to-fish, watching expert hands slice and roll fresh, top-quality maki and sashimi. Beyond the raw stuff, offerings include soups, tempura and teriyaki entrees.
Do not care about their customers – After confirming on their website that they were open until 9:30, we arrived for dinner at the Sudbury restaurant on Sunday at 8:35 pm. There were two other tables of customers. We ordered sake and miso soup.
As we began to peruse the menu for main courses, our waiter told us we needed to hurry, as the kitchen was about to close. We replied that we needed another minute or two to choose, and said we thought they were open til 9:30 (which the sign on their door says as well). We hurriedly ordered a couple of items and continued to look at the list. At this point, the senior chef (he acted like the owner?) came to our table and brusquely said "I hope that's all you want, we're closing the kitchen now." I told him their website and door sign say 9:30 (at this point it was not yet 8:45). With rude attitude, he told me I was wrong.
This was a bit much, so I told him we would just pay for our sakes and go elsewhere to eat. We had not yet received our miso. He said no, our food was already being prepared and we had to pay for it. I told him to pack it to go. We paid and will never return. We never did get the soup.
By the way, the food was way too fussy, obscuring the fine fresh fish underneath. There is no shortage of good sushi available locally at establishments that care about their customers.
Oishi Too Sushi Bar – My husband & I have tried sushi at several places. We love the sushi at Oishi Too, it is so good, they stay very busy & because of that, they take a little longer. We sometimes wonder how other sushi restaurants stay open, like Yama in Wellesley. It is the worse!!!!
Not like the original Oiishi in Chestnut Hill – I've been a huge fan of Oiishi in Chestnut Hill. I've taken many friends there and everyone agrees it's the best Sushi ever. So I was excited when I found out there was an Oiishi II closer. What a dissapointment. The chefs are careless and frankly it's no better than any other sushi place. For the quality, the prices are ridiculous. The restaurant is covered with articles and awards for the restaurant but these are all for the Oiishi in Chestnut Hill. I've gone to Oiishi II several times, thinking I may have just gotten unlucky but the quality is consistently dissapointing. If you really want a great sushi experience, go to Oiishi in Chestnut Hill.
