GREAT vintage, helpful staff.. The Hip Zipper is my absolute favorite place to shop in Nashville. I almost always find several things I can't live without! If I need a new party dress, a summer wrap skirt, white stilettos, a navy clutch, vintage dead stock Nashville keychain, or a salmon slip, I know where I can find them! Trisha and the other staff members are very helpful and Trisha is always very excited to pull out some new arrivals for me to try on. The woman knows her vintage! They also keep all different sizes, which is fantastic for those of us who aren't used to being able to find vintage pieces that fit. I LOVE this store.
awesome vintage, great service. Hip Zipper has amazing affordable vintage wear for ladies and guys. Anytime I need something special to wear, I find it here. And the owner is so helpful- when I had a friend in town she handed us a complete list of vintage stores in Nashville!
i love this place!!. I haven't been to another vintage store since finding the hip zipper.the clothes are amazing, unique and reasonably priced. The owner is very kind and helpful.I always recommend this store to anyone trying to find good vintage clothes.
Hip Zipper? Major disappointment.
Ok, I will give the woman a slight break because she may not have a degree in Fashion Merchandising and may not have worked in major Department Stores all over the country like I have, but I learned about Customer Service when I was 16 years old. The fact that the owner of the store did not even speak to me the entire 20 minutes that I was in her store was more of a turn-off than the fact I found nothing that I would even consider purchasing. I am a HUGE fan of vintage anything and I could not find a single item that I would buy. I might have had she not been so rude.
I will never go there again. BTW, I went to Pieces on Louise St. afterwards and I found over $100 worth of clothing I just had to have.
This intimate east Nashville clothier keeps it retro with a premium selection of vintage apparel..
In Short
The non-descript storefront contrasts with an outrageous interior collection that overflows with brightly colored men's and women's fashions from the past. The well-organized wares are divided into his and hers sections with eccentric accessories scattered throughout. Local musicians and other free spirits peruse the piles brought in by the passionate staff. Limited floor space means every item on display is a find, yet prices are reasonable for the average hipster.
DO NOT MISS OUT!. The Hip Zipper is the only store in the area that carries classic, quality vintage clothing from the 30's to the 70's. No dirty thrift store stuff; cool western shirts (only $22), hundreds of men's shirts, fabulous ties and suits, shoes, hats, racks and racks of dresses ($16-40 max.), beach party-esque bathing and play suits, and the huge selection of spike heels, all only $20. Cannot forget all of the 40's, 50's and 60's furniture from chrome/formica dinette sets, clean-lined wooden tables and a huge selection of lamps. There is also a huge selection of hand-made one of a kind vintage jewelry, a plethora of purses, belts, glasses (for your eyes), glasses for drinking, and the coolest ashtrays around.
