Awesome lunch catering!. My company hosted a training in Athens, GA and randomly decided to use Big City Bread Cafe - what luck!

Big City Bread did a fantastic job with the lunchs, delivered on time and had incredibly friendly staff! Also, we needed a vegetarian option for our lunch and they did a great job with that!

I definitely recommend any one looking for lunch catering in Athens, GA to check them ou!

Fresh bakery with a killer front patio. Located just west of downtown in the neighborhood area on Finley Street behind the Bottleworks area, Big City bread consistently doles out loads of reputation-affirming baked goods such as muffins, baguette, pastries, and sandwiches. Original dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner fresh and delightful, though the real charm of Big City is the Europe-meets-the-deep-south aura perpetuated by a simple croissant/cappuccino/newspaper combination. Blackberry muffins should be a part of you’re breakfast on the go rotation, though the croque monsieur makes for a great sit-down lunch. Make sure you snag some on-street parking and enjoy your roast beef on baguette al fresco.

Leary of the sandwiches. I've visited twice now and both times I've been disappointed. The ham and cheese baguette was definitely underwhelming, but the chicken salad sandwich was unpalatable. Sorry two strikes and I'm not going back.

I did buy a cinnamin current loaf of bread, and it was great. Tasted fresh baked and was very good. I understand this is baked by the bakery next door. Made me wish they had prepared my sandwiches.

I went back to buy another loaf, but they don't stock much apparently, and so I was disappointed again. Now I wish the bakery had their own store even if just for bread.

Fresh Sandwiches in Athens. This bakery and sandwich shop serves fresh breads and pastries made the same day. The sandwiches are made to order, or you can go with a suggestion on the menu. My favorites are the spicy black bean, picante tofu and Mediterranean tuna. The desserts--rustic tarts, muffins, cakes and cookie--will make an addict of you. I hear they also cater and make wedding cakes.
