Being Italian and growing up in a traditional Italian family with the homemade dishes every week, I am a very picky Italian diner, only because I expect the best. I mean, hey, if my family can make Italian good and we DON'T own a restaurant, those who own one, should be able to make it better! Well, on a trip up the mountains about three years ago, my fiance took me out to dinner to this little Italian place near the grocery store. Thank you, so much, because the food was a delight! The sicilian pizza was delicious! Sauce - amazing. Service was the only thing that kept me from giving it five stars. The girls working did not look nor act professional at all, and they were extremely slow (we were one of three tables seated) We waited around fifteen minutes for the waitress to hang up her phone and stop blowing bubbles with her gum to come take our drink order. Now, usually I would have just left, but something told me to stay. We did, and the food was well worth the bad service! We go back every time we're in town, but only Take-out, never dine in. I can't wait to go back next week!
Superb!. I had never been to Tedeschi's prior to the re-opening, but I'm so glad I went after. I was there for Valentine's Day 2008 and had a superb experience. From the food to the service, it was all excellent. I took a group of friends there again about two weeks later. The entire group had nothing but praises after our dining experience. The same result from my third visit as well - superb. I'm going there again tonight, so I anticipate the same great food, great service, and overall excellent dining experience.
Haven't had a meal from them that I didn't love..
I can't believe what I'm reading from the bad reviews below. Please don't let them keep you from trying Tedeschi's at least once for yourself. I guess it just goes to show that there really are so many different tastes out there. Tedeschi's does tend to be one of a more sophisticated palette. If you've never been, you don't know what great food your missing. I am never disappointed weather I order a soup & salad, sandwich, hot meal or pizza, dining in or out (which we tend to do more). There does tend to be a bit of a wait during peak hours when you eat in (which should say something), but we often put an order in before grocery shopping and pick it up after and it's always ready. Their sauce is amazing - ALWAYS simple and authentic - NEVER with a fresh out of the jar taste. The menu is refreshing which makes it difficult to get bored and is like no where else. My boyfriend and I could eat here a few times a week and actually have at times.
I moved to the area about three years ago from Philadelphia (where it's a challenge to find bad cusine, but surprisingly it's not very easy to find a good slice with the exception of Mama Palmas, Joe's, Lorenzo's,Tacconelli's, SoHo etc.). Needless to say, compared to Philadelphia this area leaves a lot to be desired, but when I found Tedeschi's a big part of that feeling went away. I thank them by being a devoted patron and hope you'll do the same!
A Meal To Remember!. We took friends to Tedeschi's for the first time since it re-opened, and all I can say is WOW! WOW! WOW! We were so impressed. Each of the four of us got a completely different entree and appetizer... and tried each other's dishes. Each was incredible. The special of the night was wonderful, the regular dishes from the menu were awesome, and the service was fantastic! I would highly recommend to others. Definitely a dining experience to remember... and I am not easily impressed!
Awesome Philly Cheese Steaks. If you love cheese steaks, you have to try Tedeschi's! They are huge, cheesey, home-made bread and absolutely wonderful!
ANYWHERE BUT TE-SUCK-EES. I suggest you go buy frozen pizza rather then purchase anything from this place. The food has been notoriosly BAD! The pizza is awful. I suggest a change in ingredients. Never had a enjoyable sit down meal from Tedeschis EVER . The service is slow, orders are recieved incorrect. The clenliness of the restrooms is nonexistant. I give it a ZERO.
I used to love them, now not so much. I've been there twice since they re-opened from the flood and the eat-in food is great, but the wait is long and the prices are high. I used to love their mashed-potato pizza, but I ordered one last weekend and it was a disaster. I ordered 2 sheets and was told it would be 30-35 minutes, an hour later they handed me one pizza ( I paid for 2) and said they forgot to make the other but I could come back for it. I opted out and took my $25 dollar mashed-potato pizza home to the family and we all hated it. We never used to have leftovers and we ended up throwing almost the whole pizza away. I'll have to learn to make them myself because I'll never get a pizza from there again. As far as eating in goes, they kind of have a monopoly on Italian around here.
Good hometown Italian. Good restaurant for a sandwich and the best Italian in the area, but a little overpriced for the food quality. Pizza at Tedeschi's leaves something to be desired especially for the price, but is still a nice family restaurant close to home with better than average food.
