Clinic is way bigger than it used to be. Love the new acupuncture room and they have way more equipment for physical therapy and rehab now.
The idea of acupuncture really freaked me out but it didn't hurt! I've totally gotten over my fear of needles now and will definitely go back.
Love this clinic! I couldn't find a sitter and needed to get in because I'd woken up in a lot of pain. The staff fit me in THAT DAY even though they were busy, let me bring my kids in, and then kept my kids busy and happy with coloring books and the puppy they have at the clinic for my whole appointment. I feel so much better and am so grateful they were nice to my boys so they had fun.
Clinic got me in same day even though they were busy. Even though they had to work me in between patients, I still didn't have to sit around all day and the doctor took time to answer my questions.
Great staff. The insurance company has been giving me the run-around after my car accident like you wouldn't believe. The records and billing gal at Absolute Wellness Center helped me so much by calling them for me, figuring out what was going on, and explaining it to me way better than the idiots at the insurance company. Its nice to find a clinic that actually cares enough to help you out even when they aren't getting paid for that specific help.
Doc was to the point and answered all my questions. The staff was friendly and I like the location right downtown. I've only been once, but they did a good job.
Dr. Michael Herb took really good care of my mom. She is pretty fragile now due to her age and he was very gentle and careful with her and helped us a lot. He not only helped her pain on the day we went in, but he spent a lot of time with us and helped us determine which specialists to see next. Many doctors stop paying attention once they decide to refer you elsewhere, but he really cared.
I'm in Cottage Grove, not Eugene, but Absolute Wellness Center is worth the drive. Dr. Herb spent plenty of time answering my questions and making sure I knew what I could do from home so I don't have to drive in multiple times a week. He knew exactly what was wrong with me and had me feeling better after only one session with another follow up the next week just to make sure it stuck. Now I only go to the clinic on an as-needed basis, but I have to say I do enjoy setting up a massage or acupuncture session when I know I'll be in downtown Eugene for business or some shopping. It's worth the drive to make sure you'll be taken care of well.
Make sure you know how much you're paying upfront. I was told "We'll bill your insurance" when I asked during scheduling and again on the day of. I learned 3 months later that I was billed $185 for a 50 min acupuncture/massage session (where the therapist, Mary Ann Petersen, used cooking oil). My insurance paid $56 and I was responsible for the rest. No wonder why they dodged the fee question! I got the condescending "It's very simple..." explanation from Mary Ann when I asked. I swallowed my pride, paid the fee, and felt duped - especially so since I gave a large tip. Definitely not worth it and definitely not going back. On a positive note, the scheduling and billing staff were very nice.
