Worst experience. I haven't used a cab comp. in quite a while but a 7.5 mile trip was gross. The cab was in disrepair unclean and smelled of B.O. and cigarette smoke. The driver was unkept but tried to be nice. The cost was $30 for the trip. First time in the city that I felt uncomfortable.
The best taxi in Cedar Rapids and Marion – I've tried the others. These guys treat you well, unlike the experience I had with Century today. The driver texted the whole way, had to get to some stupid party at his boss's house and was pretty scary.
Yellow Cab is professional, their cars are comfortable, and their service is top notch. I'd go with them any day.
Oh yeah, and they don't try to take the long way. I've been there, I tell you.

Consumer's Original Complaint :
My 16 year old daughter missed the bus on friday, April 29, 2011 and as a last resort called the Yellow Cab company to see how much it would cost to take a cab to Kennedy High school, as she only had $11.50. She was told it would be between $9-11 so asked them to pick her up. The driver took a way that she did not even recognize and upon arriving at Kennedy told her it was $16.00. She told the driver she only had $11.50 and that they had said it would not be over $11 - driver of car #77 told her they were not allowed to quote rates over the phone, and didn't she have friends she could get the rest of the money from...she tried but with no luck.The driver told her to go ask her principal which she did. I called Yellow Cab after I got off work and found out the supervisor's name is Freddy but he was gone for the day and would be back in the office Sat. from 7-11 am. I called Freddy and he said it was $3.50 for pick up and $3.00 per mile after that but it should only be 1-1 1/2 miles from our location to the school - i advised him about the cab driver causing my daughter undue stress and embarrassment having to ask her principal for $. Freddy said he wanted to talk to the driver but he would get some money back and he would call me back later that day.I never heard from him and when I called yesterday afternoon he is out of the office until Monday am.
Consumer's Desired Resolution:
I do want my daughter's money refunded, as well as a yellow cab representative to take the money owed to the Principal at Kennedy High School - an apology to my daughter who suffered needless stress and embarrassment and I want the driver fired. What kind of person takes advantage of a naive 16 year old girl trying to get to school - I am outraged and want something done.
