Tips for Thirsty Marlin

June 30, 2012

Had dinner at the Thirsty Marlin downtown Palm Harbor last week!! What a fantastic place!! My wife and I both had the Grouper Atlantis and our daughters had kids meals. Our server, David M. was extremely polite, friendly, prompt and entertaining. He got the kids meals out quickly and shortly after, our meals. He recommended the Chocolate Marlin dessert which was SO good!! I would recommend the Thirsty Marlin to everyone that wants to enjoy fantastic food at great prices. What a fun place with a great staff!! I can tell that the staff enjoys their job which made my family's experience one that we just had to share!! THANK YOU Thirsty Marlin and David M. We will definitely be back!!

Awful food. I only gave this two stars because the interior is adequate and there was a guy singing that was good which created a nice atmosphere. The food however..blech. I had the chicken fajitas which was just green bell pepper and onions, no red bell pepper or anything else. Boring, but was worse is that I could taste mold on the green peppers. The black bean/rice side dish was overcooked and the beans were chalky. I couldn't eat them. My husband ordered steak quesadillas which he thought tasted like ground beef. He said they were "disgusting" and left most of them on his plate. We won't go back.

Key West in our back yard!. This place is so much fun we didnt want to leave! First we had a few tropical drinks at the bar the we got a table outside near the band. Then we got the fried green tomatoes and they were awesome! I got the king crab that was so sweet it melted in my mouth I didnt even need butter! My wife got the bacon wraped scallops that were also very good. Then we both got frozen mudsides for desert! Best meal we have ever had.

Tuesday n Thursday they have 241 fajitas. Wednesdays they have 2 dollar fish tacos! Thursdays they have $4 burgers. They still have there all u can eat fish n chips and all u can eat crab legs also. Makes eating out a better value then to grocery store, cooking it then having to clean it up myself!

BEST SEAFOOD IN PINELLAS COUNTY. LOVE THIS PLACE! Great place for large groups. We had a girls night out and thought we would start at the marlin for dinner then go out after, but we NEVER left! All 20 of us loved our food we orderd everything from appetizers, sushi, sandwiches to surf n turf and we all enjoyed our meals. There was a band out back and they were so good we ended up drinking and dancing til midnight! I would highly recomend this place for anyone looking for great food and a great time!

Oustanding food!. My boyfriend and I visit here frequently! It is one of our favorite date night places to go! Everytime we go we have to try something different and we have yet to find anything we did not enjoy! My favorite so far is the fresh tasting Grouper Atlantis! It has the perfect mix of shrimp, scallops and crab topped with a delicious hollandaise sauce>> what can beat that! Yum! The service is always quick and friendly. There specials are also awesome and decently priced too! I recomend it to all my friends and family! It"s definitly one of my favorite local seafood places!

Great experience. First and foremost, don't let a review sway you from trying something new. Reviews are just that, someones personal opinion.

We've been to the Thirsty Marlin in PALM HARBOR (Why do people post reviews for Largo?) many times over the last few years. Every time we've gone we've had a great time. If you're looking for a place to kick back, have some food in a fun environment with plenty of personality and the Floridian feel, this is the place to go! Their Monday night all you can eat crab legs are absolutely delicious. I don't understand these people that had a terrible experience. Were you expecting a fine dining experience? Or were you just not prepared for the cost of your meal? Yeah well not every restaurant goes through the large companies for their product and can sell a burger for a dollar. Try buying local organic meat in any city and you'll notice you're paying for what you get. If you want your cheap food, go back to before the economic decline or check out the local fast food! Bottom line, they've got good food, great variety, great daily specials, an environment, everything. They've got it all. Just don't go here if you're looking for a quiet place to grub. This place is meant for ENJOYMENT. You get what you put into it.

awesome sushi. We go to the marlin every monday night for all you can eat crab legs and $1 sushi, the crab legs come out fresh and hot, never have to wait for more, and the sushi is the best around and only a dollar!!! We always sit at the bar to eat and watch the suhi guys, Tom the bartender always keeps are drinks full.

I'm Surprised!!. WOW... I'm surprised by the negative reviews. My husband and I have been going to Thirsty Marlin since it opened 9 years ago. We love the atmosphere and the food is alway great! Reminds me of Key West back-in-the-day. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion so please try it for yourself. We love it there.
