In Short – Don't let the license plates hanging from the wall or signs reading "beware of pickpockets and loose women" scare you away. The alligator head holding the takeout menus won't bite. Yes, it's a roadhouse, but the arcade games in the front are a better indicator of the playful vibe that lies in store, as hungry families get their hands dirty on hearty dishes that are tastier than they sound. Don't believe me? Try the trash can nachos (chili-topped nachos), pit boss quesadilla (chicken quesadillas) or lazy wings (boneless chicken tenders, smothered in one of seven sauces).

Closed some bar and grill is going in. This part of Delray is like a ghost town due to the economy. To bad.

Just bad BBQ

I try to write reviews as quickly after eating as possible and this one is no exception. I still have the taste in my mouth, but unfortunately, this is not a good thing. I don't want to be rude, but the only part of the "Bad to the Bone BBQ" Lucille's lived up to was the bad part. I actually had set out to eat at a different bbq place that ended up not being in business anymore (I guess their bbq was no better) so I did not read up on Lucille's but chose it over the Roadhouse as I know that is kind of a chain and I wanted to try something "local".
I wanted to try their bbq, so I did combo IV where I got half a rak of ribs, pulled chicken and beef brisket plus two sides. The sides were actually very good. I got the beans and they came out piping hot, which is perfect as cold beans remind me of those horrible family picnics. The fries were good and the corn bread is very good.
Unfortunately I came for ribs and bbq. The ribs were horrible and I mean atrocious. They had almost no taste, were rubbery and were not properly cooked. They didn't pull off the bone and too the contrary, hardly came off at all. I only ate two of them. I really wanted ribs and this ruined it all. The chicken was not very good either. It tasted old and could have been from the day before. The sauce it was cooked in was not good, too sweet and tasted like onions, and white onions at that.
They sent out pulled pork first, which I did not ask for, but that doesn't matter, no big deal. They brought out the beef and it was probably the best of the meats. I brought it back with me as well. Even so, it was cooked in what tasted like the same thing as the chicken, although there was a hint of sweet relish, but that may have been the sauce. They had two bbq sauces, one sweet and one spicy. The spicy was only moderately spicy and the sweet was too sweet with too much onion. Neither really resembled a bbq sauce, or at least one I would consider bbq.
- Pros: Beans, sports ambience
- Cons: Food, ribs, bbq sauce
