Fastastic!. Outstanding value, service and food. Very impressive. Of all the places I have eaten in HI, this is by far the best.

One of the better restaurants on Kauai. After going to many ma & pa type diners and receiving mediocre food we decided to try Gaylord's for their breakfast buffet. The atmosphere was country-elegant, the service prompt and the food, good. White linen table cloths, pleasant outdoor seating, a guitarist in a Hawaiian shirt providing soft background music and an all-you-can-eat buffet. The food was average: french toast, eggs, pastries, sausage, hot tea & coffee, fresh cut fruit, etc. Guava juice was freshly squeezed, yum.

We roamed the first floor of this old plantation home, charming, not upscale elegant, but old island charming. Very nice atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation or you will have to wait your turn. This is a good value for the money.

Disappointment. We tried the breakfast buffet because we were impressed by the variaty on their flyer (we got at the hotel were we stayed Gran Hyatt) It was a big disapointment. The service was bad from teh start. Teh hostess were rude, teh server was slow and the food was mediocre. The fruit tray was never refilled and had only a couple pices of melon (forget about the "tropical fruits" they list), the french toast was old, the eggs weren't eggs but a mix of egg beater and how knows what, the coffee was cold and watery, the banana bread was decent and the potatoes were uncooked. I'm not exagerating or being taken by anger...this was by far the only restaurant I've ever being that made me sit in front of my computer and write a review...It's so bad that it's worth the time spent writing it.

Sunday Brunch. Great Sunday Brunch menu in a nice country atmosphere, just minutes away from Lihue town in the former plantation town of Puhi. The Sunday brunch menu is q great way to sample the fine food at this upscale restaurant without having to pay the price and dress up. Brunch for a party of 3 came out to about $45, for three entrees & drinks. Entrees include a fruit plate and cinnamon roll.
