The Kauai Marriott, one of the largest properties on Kauai, proves an excellent choice for families. This laid back hotel-time share combo offers plenty of activities for all ages. It has a great location in Lihue on the lovely mile-long beach fronting Kalapaki Bay. (It's a great spot for those looking to explore both the North and South Shores of the island.) Rooms are inviting, with a mix of Old English and tropical chain-style decor. The large, lovely pool, extensive grounds and interesting Asian art stay true to the tropical surroundings. Local flora and fauna, as well as a huge Koi pond, give the property a natural, relaxing vibe. Among the many restaurants is Duke's, a burger joint, and Cafe Portofino, serving Italian food on the beach promenade.
