Cool indy music store!. I started coming here because Tower is gone, Borders and Barnes and Noble have greatly scaled down their music departments, Best Buy never has anything in stock and no one who works at these places seem to know much about music.

At HE, the guys who work their really know their stuff...and if they donʻt know what you want, and you donʻt know what exactly you want - theyʻll still help you try and find it. Itʻs not easy to get that kind of customer service anymore.

The dudes who work here seem very cool and always willing to help customers. I love the fact that there is a nice collection of Hawaiian music CDs - something you just canʻt find at places. Support local music!!!

It also is great to buy stuff from them knowing that you are supporting a small, independent locally owned business. Itʻs important to the economy and to the community. So, to the guy who wrote that nasty review of HE, not cool, dude. Looks like you lost your aloha spirit somewhere on the mainland.

I would recommend this store to anyone!

This shop is older than me. This is a great place to go for gifts and/or to find rare albums and discs. The entire building is iconic and comprised of some unique shops such as Coconut Grove Music Supply, Udown, etc. The dude that helped me was fairly cool, I didn't converse too much with him though. I'd choose this place over a Mall anyday

This place SUX:(. Do not go into this place!!!!!!!!! I used to go in there when I was was a kid, I moved away for many years, came back to visit, and saw that it was still there. I had to go in to check it out and buy something. It was the same oriental dude with bad skin, and a bad tude. He is the typical stereotype of a guy that works in a hole in the wall record shop. COMPLETE D***HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He knows everything, and anything you ask him will be answered by another condescending question back. I cannot believe this place is still standing, Wow. Thank god for the Internet and the beauty of download. Trying to purchase music with a douche like this would be an impossible situation, forget Napster, the douche at the local record store ruined it. Thanks for nothing Hungry Ear and R.I.P.
