Some of Kauai's best seafood, served in a romantic, torch-lit atmosphere..
In Short
An immense, hollowed-out stone serves as a lily pond and roadside landmark next to tiki torches and a giant avocado tree. Once you park, stroll down the trellis-covered archway to reach this enchanting eatery. The atmosphere is formal without being pretentious and the staff is friendly. Tables are playfully adorned with old Hawaiian postcards. Sit on the porch and you'll be treated to flavorful smells wafting from the kitchen. The unique menu makes use of fresh local ingredients from land and sea. Start with Taro fritters, lightly fried morsels that are seasoned to savory delight. Other tempting starters include Thai summer rolls and nori rolls. For the main dish, a fresh catch of the day is prepared to order: grilled or blackened, with a choice of macadamia-nut butter, honey Dijon or peppered-pineapple sage sauce. For dessert, the pear tart and coconut cake are equally delectable.
Outstanding seafood. We went for dinner (only time it is open) during a recent trip and had a great experience. We had reservations and got seated promptly at one of 3 tables on the very pleasant front porch. The staff was helpful, including recommending the spring roll appetizer, and both of our fish entree's were first rate. Both of the other tables appeared to be locals, which is always a good sign.
