Downtowns' hipster soul food spot.. In Short
Taking traditional Southern dining and adding a pinch of indie-cool, Five Star Day Café is a must-visit in town. With a view of the famed UGA arches and two coveted sidewalk seating tables, this glorified meat and two fills up daily with hipsters and students alike. Mozzarella and mushroom stuffed meatloaf, veggie plates, hot buttered soul chicken and homemade pot roast made highlights the menu with most ingredients being shipped in daily. You won’t find dull veggies or chicken shipped from across the country, rather creative and charming tables topped with some pretty fantastic (and cheap) dishes served atop thrift store tablecloths. Be prepared for somewhat snarky service and indie music when the place is full, but it is all part of the experience.
