R0ACH COACH MOTEL--not a Super 8, nor a Mediocre 8. Stay away!!

This place was pathetic. Copied below is a modification of an email I sent to the investigatory branch of the GA state government that inspects these places.

I stayed at the Budget Inn in Statesboro, GA, at 109 N. Main St., Statesboro, GA last night. I am from Kansas City, and am here for a few days visiting my daughter at GA Southern and looking at apartments for the upcoming school year.

I checked into the Budget Inn last night about 10PM, paying ahead, and

planning to stay 2 nights. I got into the room, planning on minimalistic but

clean and safe accomodations. I was correct on one account, it was fairly safe.

It was absolutely filthy and unkempt. The carpet was 10-20 years old, and had

wax stains, among other stains, tears, dirt, and looked as if it had not been

cleaned in nearly as long. I kept my socks on due to the filthy floors. The bathroom had urine from a horribly uncontrolled diabetic all over the floor and commode seat. Being used to minimalist accommodations, I cleaned the bathroom enough to feel safe using the facilities.

I did not feel like demanding a refund from the night clerk at 10PM, and stayed

the night. The rooms had stains all over the walls, water stains from roof

leaks on the ceilings, and the linens were marginally clean. I slept fully

clothed. I have done better, and felt safer in youth hostels 25 years ago in

Europe.



I got up early, dressed, and left without showering, due to the filth in the

bathroom. I demanded and received a refund for the 2nd, unused night. The clerk refunded my money for the 2nd night, and acted as if he ran a clean/functional motel.

I checked into the Baymont Inn down the street, where I have stayed in the past. I recommend anywhere else in the area, except the Budget Inn. True, the Budget Inn was dirt cheap, but beyond filthy. I would rather pay a little more, feel safe, and be able to use the toilet and shower.
