Shopping >Jim Terry Music
I have had nothing but good experiences with Jim Terry Music. From the moment we entered the store, Mr. Terry greeted us and assisted us with lessons for our daughter and helped us to buy a very reasonably priced guitar. The 30 minute lessons are a pleasure to listen to. Even though my daughter is still fairly new at playing, Jim plays along with her simple melody and it makes my daughter feel like she is part of something amazing. It also makes listening to the lesson a pleasure. He truly is a patient teacher who respects his students and takes them where they are. His other employees are equally talented and curtious. It is a pleasure to hear my daughter now as his lessons have inspired her to practice daily. Mr. Terry is the only teacher I would want for my daughter!
Without a doubt the most honest and. I want to take a moment to Thank all the wonderful people who support my business in so many ways. Jim Terry Music established in 1983 will begin its 30th year this October. Three generations and 250,000 private lessons later we are stronger than ever.We are a full line music store offering not only the best teachers at the lowest price in the state , we also offer great deals on all musical instruments and accessories. Our guitar and string instrument repair shop is one of the finest in the country, offering quick and reason repairs and restoration of all string instruments. The joy I share with my fellow employees is the greatest reward of it all. I thank every one who has voiced their opinion on this and other reviews.I even thank my competitors who have posted here. I encourage and welcome any and all honest reviews and suggest new customer to stop in and judge for themselves why Jim Terry Music has been in business for so long . Regards
Worst Customer Service Experience. If there was lower than one star, i would give it. This store is run and manned by arrogant jerks. Went to get lessons for my kids and he practically threw us out the door. After we persisted, he signed us up for two lessons and wouldn't renew for more saying it was a waste of his time. What a real jerk. Now i know why he is the cheapest in town, you get what you pay for.
Fantastic teacher and wonderful small buisness..
Jim is a great guitar teacher. He is helping this 30 something business exec finally learn to play the guitar, a life long dream.
Starting with no experience what-so-ever, he is patiently taking me from no talent hack to some talent hack.
I highly recomend the store (Great deals) and the man (great teacher and great guy).
Are you kidding me?.
@incomprehensible - If Jim's is about guitars only, then why isn't the name of the business "Jim Terry Guitars"? Jim himself named it "Jim Terry Music" so why is it incomprehensible that someone might venture in there for "music" items? Give me a break and stop sticking up for the guy.
Also, to PerpetualPatriot - it's illegal in the wonderful state of Florida to record a telephone conversation without the other party's consent. You may want to edit out that part of your review.
Inspirational Mentor, Great Instructor.
I got a kick out of the *** review. There's three sides to every story and it sounds like quite a bit is left out of that tale. Those of us who enjoy Jim's gift as a musician and thoughtful instructor are happy guys like that will not be back. JTM is for guitar players who want to advance. Its perfect for kids who want to learn and adults who want to enjoy the instrument. Guitars.
Go to Tinkerbell's if you want a "bellset" or other silly paraphernalia.
Go to Jim to learn GUITAR.
Brand New Customer told to "F*** Off".
My girlfriend, whom has four wonderful children which are all luckily musically inclined, decided that she would stop into Jim Terry's Music Store off Curlew Rd. She was looking for a very simple pair of products; a bell set and a music book. Long story short, this encounter ended with the employee, if not Jim himself, who unimaginably told her to "F*** off" which prompted her to leave this store. After receiving a call from her while I'm at work, clarifying the details of the situation, I decided I would like to call this store and find out what happened. I requested to speak with a Manager, conviently there isn't one, and was then badgered by a bad attituded employee would refused to give my name and phone number for someone higher than himself to call me back. This only further leads me to believe this is Jim Terry cowardly hiding behind a telephone. While recording this conversation, I was then told, "If you're dating her, then you've got a big f*cking problem." I've worked in multiple hospitality environments throughout the Tampa Bay area, as of right now I serve the IT community of a notable private hotel chain that's garnished a great deal of media attention for its outstanding efforts to their guests, and in situation that I can think of should a guest or customer be told to "F*** off." From this point forward I will go out of my way to make sure anyone who visits this store knows of this situation, I've e-mailed the recording of my conversation with their employee to BayNews 9 and I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau.
Jim, perhaps if you treated your customers with a little more dignity and respect, you would have garnered another, but instead, I guarantee you, I will tear this business down. You may feel free to e-mail me at arm.symphony@yahoo should you feel the need to make this right.
