Tips for Sam's Hudson Beach Restaurant

WOW, how can you have such disgusting food with such a beautiful view? The food here was inedible. The location is deceiving because it has a prime spot on Gulf. I guess they rely on booze sales because you'd have to be seriously drunk to eat the food, not to mention if you ever get your food. Took forever, we think they forgot us. My advice, walk across the street and eat a decent meal, at least a more edible one then Sam's. This place is only good to get drunk, but don't get so drunk you eat the food, you will regret it. So sad.

Laid Back - FLORIDA casual - No Hurry No Worry!. If you're in the market for "fine dining" don't go to Sam's. It is truly a place to go to have a relaxing meal and enjoy the Florida lifestyle. I don't get there as often as I would like to because it is just a little out of the way for me.

I have always had a good meal whether is be a sandwich or a platter. The portion size is generous and the servers have always been friendly. I look forward to getting back there.

Great casual lunch date outdoor dining right on the waterfront -- and quite a romantic spot to go for a dinner date.

Local will never go there again. We just got married and made the mistake of inviting our friends and family to get together here. (26 of us)This was a terrible experience! The service is EXTREMLY AWFUL (the general attitude of the staff is that YOU are lucky to have them wait on you and you will get your food and drinks when they get around to it!) The food was ok but way overpriced!!!! The crack head waitress was so unorganized she took FOREVER to figure out our bills and blamed us for her mistakes! The manager & the rest of the staff were no help. We are local and will NEVER go there again.

It's worth the ride. l drive one hour up from Gulfport which is loaded with great places to eat on the water too.....just to get Sam's fried zuchinni and l don't normally eat fried foods. IT IS DELICIOUS!

l am partially disabled and can manage in rest room, parking is close and he has benches a cripple can slide into as opposed to trying to get an immobile leg over a bench......It's a nice place in the evening too...the lighting and moon over the water....like l said.... its worth the ride. What A Great Place. The menu is fantastic and it's a million dollar view at sunset.

Make sure and try the grouper sandwich. If you like fried food you will love Sams, it's always lightly breaded and never greasy. Also the seafood is a real buy for the price.

Great View. Sam's has an excellent porch area, one canvas enclosed and heated for the cooler days and one area open. Beautiful view of the bay and wonderful sunsets. During the warmer months a tikki bar and live music add to the festivities. Food is decent, depending on what you order. Breaded and fat fried items can be greasy at times but their grouper sandwich is excellent.

Don't expect to get your burger your way, unless you like it med well to well done. Their latest special is raw or baked oysters - depending on availablility. I ordered a plate of each. The raw oysters did not taste or smell correct and were surrounded in a viscous liquid instead of the liquer that i am fond of. However maybe this explains why they say never eat raw shellfish in months ending in Y. The baked oysters were also a dissapointment, i could not get past the fact that they were topped with a cheddar style cheese, so i didn't even try them. Parmesan or Ramano cheese would have been excellent, but yellow cheese is just not correct.

After the returning the two items, the manager came out to chat. She was friendly and explained that their oysters were fresh and shucked every morning. Why they were not shucked at the time of order is a mystery. She also went on to say that every one loves there baked oysters with the topping provided. To each his own,..... but i would recomend Sam's for its view and grouper, not for its oyster prepartation.
