What a great place!

This place is a gem in Port Charlotte! Real Italian food, just like I've missed from up north. The dining room creates a NYC feel, complete with a sidewalk, parking meter and fire escapes. Their staff is freindy and family orientated, what a pleasure. It is a shame that some difficult, angry people (yes, you know you see them everywhere) have come on to this site only to tarnish this cute places reputation...trust me most everyone loves this place, ignore the angry bitter minority.

Donato's is the BEST!

Donato's is an excellent Italian restaurant! The food is outstanding! We have been going to Donato's for almost 10 years now. The food is always excellent and the service...they treat me like one of the family!

I also love the atmosphere! The outside-inside theme is great for a romantic date, but also well suited for the whole family! My 7 year old loves that she can color on the tables!

A unique feature is the group performance of Dean Martin's classic "Amore!" and the delightful man who strolls the "streets" singing to the customers in Italian!

GO to Donato's! You'll probably see me there!

• Cons: I can't eat at Donato's every day!

Donato's- Best Italian Anywhere!!

Donato's Italian Restaurant is a family-owned and opperated restaurant that serves exquisite, traditional Italian dishes served in generous portions by the always delightful waitstaff! Nightly choruses of "That's Amore" further the family- friendly atmosphere! In addition, Donato's recently opened an Italian Market next door in which patrons can purchase Donato's specialty dinners as well as other wonderful Italian treats! It's a gem for residents and visitors alike!
