Not a Beach Vacation. If you are very, very old or have children with whom you exercise no discipline or control, this is the place for you. If you're looking for a couples get away, look elsewhere. The Island of Captiva was beautiful but the service and rudeness of the locals greatly tarnished our experience. The resort was extremely overcrowded. Traffic around Captiva, Sannibel & Ft. Myers was bumper to bumper.

like being on a bad island. I was just at this resort for a wedding. The electricity went out- there were NO CANDLES in any of the rooms, let alone any battery emergency lights. The power went out again in the middle of the night causing people to miss alarms. The hotel could easily have called the transportation vans for lists of early morning travelers and done a wake up call- but they just let people miss planes! The food was mediocre and the condos were highly variable in terms of what they contained. I have no idea how they justify their prices. Two of the places to eat were closed- so we were stuck. For the price, there must be better places to stay.We won't return. The housekeepers were so LOUD and visited in the rooms while cleaning them.
