Don't see Dr. Garcynski. Totally agree with previous review. Sometimes you say to yourself maybe it's me but I knew it wasn't. He's very knowledgeable but as they his bed side manner is very poor. He's uncaring and disrespectful and I'm 6' 3" and 215 lbs so that means that's just who he is. He does lecture but it's mean spirited where you feel he isn't really helping you or that he cares and he is a very poor listener. People need to feel cared for and I did not. All these things are not a good recipe for a doctor. The office staff is very friendly though.
Best Experience!. I have vsp insurance and found this place. The staff were very friendly and helpful.The exam was really good I felt like it was the best exam I had ever gotten. They also took pictures of my retina, and the Doctor explained the results to me, I was very impressed. I always hate picking out glasses I can never see what they look like while trying them on, but they had this machine that took 4 pictures of me side by side, that was really great and then the lady gave me different options on my glasses, she explained things about my glasses that noone else ever did. When I picked up my glasses I could see so clearly, by far the best pair I have ever gotten I would recommend Carrollwood Optical to my friends and family, I just wish I had found them sooner!
Dr.'s and Staff are GREAT.
I have been a patient at Carrollwood Optical for several years now I normally see Dr. Williams, but have seen Dr. Garczynski a couple of times, both are wonderful, and every time I go I am treated with the utmost respect. Everyone is always nice, and very helpful. I couldn't think of going anywhere else. I hope the doctors don't retire any time soon.
I was there this past Saturday, near closing, when a very loud and rude person came in the door. Angel, and the new girl, I don't know her name, very pleasant though, behind the desk had to deal with this rude lady. She came in demanding she stop helping who ever she is helping and only take care of her, I think she demanded her record. Kept repeating herself again and again, and again, really not allowing the girls to speak. Angel was very composed and tried to appease her. There was no appeasing this women. She was for lack of a better word very disruptive, rude, uncalming, and loud I guess there isn't just one word to describe her. There had to be almost 8 to 10 people there at the time, and every-thing stopped except her. I say good riddens!
The only nice thing she had to say is, she really liked Dr. Garczynski, and I agree with only that.
I've been going to Carrollwood Optical for about 5 years off and on now and I have always had a pleasant experience there. The staff is very friendly and professional. I have dealt with Dr. Williams only so I can't say anything about the other Dr..
I did read the first review posted below and must say I hardly doubt that what they said happened. Why would you post something online saying a staff member stuck a copy of a license in a purse? Wouldn't you do something about it right then and there? To me this person had a bad experience or a bad day and had to make up a story and lie about it.
Would NOT recommend. I went here because I needed to order some new contacts and my prescription had expired, so I just needed an eye exam. On the positive side, the office staff was friendly. My boyfriend saw the other doctor for an exam and said she was very nice. Unfortunately, I had an appointment with Dr. Garczynski. I am an easy-going person who does not get upset easily, but I can honestly say that I have never been treated so rudely at any place of business. The way he spoke to me was extremely condescending and offensive. I was expecting for him to tell me that I don't throw away my contacts often enough; I know that, I can read the box. I just don't have the money to order contacts as often as I should, and I really don't want glasses. Instead of just telling me that, he gave me a lecture and scolded me as though I were a misbehaving child. This guy needs to find a job where he doesn't interact with customers at all... despite the office staff being lovely, I will not return because of the way Dr. Garczynski treated me.
